Still though, does that actually constitute an arrest? They're teenagers. Also, how many people a year get arrested for not having a bike licensed in Perth Amboy? Probably few people. Also, these laws are barely existent in other parts of the state and country. So why enforce that law, and detain a kid who isn't even from the area, regardless of if he did know or didn't?

We going to follow every cop in the nation now? Sure, let everyone do what they want. No danger in that until a few get run over, and the police take the blame. I am getting the feeling people of ALL colors are fed up! Hey, in Manhattan prostitution will no longer be a criminal charge. Way to bring people back to the City. However, you can't bring them back to NJ unless you declare them at the recently erected NJ toll stations. NJ working girls have dropped their rates to counter this competitive threat. A strike is obviously out of the question.

accountability for breaking the law. So we just let delinquents just wonder in and out of traffic possibly cause an accident that could kill a person or a family? Don't stop them from playing suicide on their bikes to a car? As the saying goes, take care of the small things and big things will take care of itself. Potential criminals started out small that they can get away easily. Nip that thing in the bud before they become a major problem for the community. Discipline starts with the family and the community. Teach the kids well and discipline them , if necessary. Everyone wants them to become a contributing citizen to the society. If they are disciplined, we have less issues to deal with and we'll have a happy life.
@jhowardsupporter3 жыл бұрын
No. Didn't you hear the report? If you're of a certain color you can commit any crime you want. That's what I heard.
@tips4tourists7903 жыл бұрын
I get that Perth Amboy may have their own set of statutes when it comes to their bike laws, but I believe that the way this kid was handled was very unprofessionally. Also, how many people actually get arrested in Perth Amboy for not having a license? Also, based on the full video I watched, it appeared that the kid was in custody only for backtalking the female cop, which is not a crime. And if he was prosecuted, why weren't the other teens? This was an unlawful detainment and all of those officers need to be off the force or heavily disciplined, preferably the former.

How would you solve the public safety problem of kids recklessly riding their bicycles in vehicular traffic?
@tips4tourists7903 жыл бұрын
@@azul8811 I don't know if there is a way to solve it. But clearly arresting kids and confiscating their bikes is not the way. People in NYC do that all the time and it never leads to arrests, and frankly it doesn't need to. Many states have the same issue but riding a bike recklessly ain't a crime there.
@azul88113 жыл бұрын
@@tips4tourists790 Well IDK. I never worked in law enforcement, but I think the purpose of law enforcement is to enforce the law. When there is no consequence for breaking the law there seems to be little incentive to abide by it. It’s funny, here in NYC if someone were to call an “undocumented” migrant an illegal alien with the intent to demean...they can be fined up to $250,000. But to deliberately ride bicycles with a pack of friends through traffic...well, what’s the big deal, really.... IDK
