Finally, I want to point out that those who grew up with great hardship can have a different and often valuable perspective to give that others don't. A lot of great art and especially music and lot's of other things just wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the contributions of people who struggled mightily early on in life but persevered. My mom really wasn't in a good position to raise me, had mental health issues and struggled mightily without much support but did it anyway. Now that she is gone I miss her more and more. I almost didn't make it myself do to my own stupidly when younger but I've learned a lot since then and am very glad to be here, give to others and enjoy life now!

My mom was pro choice, was not ready to be a mom and lacked a supportive man, and had scheduled an abortion. But then she had a dream one night of a little boy who cried out to her and said "I'm here!". She woke up and canceled the procedure. That little boy was me more then 45 years ago.

I can relate to both pro choice and pro life arguments but whenever I hear someone say that parents shouldn't bring kids into the world when not ready, that it's a net loss for society (I disagree!) thay are talking about me! Many thought my mom shouldn't have had me at the time and treated her poorly as a result and this harmed me as well. I'll use a pro choice argument to argue that it is wrong to say those who "aren't responsible" shouldn't have kids, as it is not others judgment call. I believe there is now far too much presure NOT to have kids these days unless one is in some sort of ideal situation unrealistic for most people.

Ok here me out. You say it's mutilation but also say you probably would lean towards doing it for the social norm. Who would want to knowingly mutilate their kid? It just seems cringe when you say it like that.

I didn’t mean it that way. I think it’s just a hard concept for me to form a strong opinion on because I’m not a man and I don’t have a son.

There are a lot of complications when you don’t circumcise your boy. In Russia they don’t and I can tell you that there are a lot of infections that go with keeping foreskin. It is a lot less traumatic to do it early in age. It also heals faster. I can tell you more about it in person 😅

Boys should be circumcised

Absolutely!!! "Our risk-benefit analysis showed that benefits exceeded procedural risks, which are predominantly minor, by up to 200 to 1. We estimated that more than 1 in 2 uncircumcised males will experience an adverse foreskin-related medical condition over their lifetime.
