CONTROVERSY at M&S 😲😲😲

As regards the mixing in with non vegan products, we like to think of it this way. Yes it will be more time consuming for vegans who shop regularly there, but, we all want the same, to save more animals. This way thousands of people who would avoid our 'section' will clearly see a viable, delicious, cruelty free version of a product they love when they go to pick it up. Whether that be a steak pie, a sausage, whatever. Unavoidable. Right there. Easy to pick up. It may just help even more people to take that first step, and we all know where that step often leads.

Yes! I was in yesterday. In my store all the vegan food has been put round the store next to the non vegan counterparts. So vegan sausage and bacon next to meat sausage, pies next to non vegan etc. I was appaled! Really off putting.

They have got rid of soooo many things though. For example the vegan chicken pizza and the vegan hot dogs. It seems they are moving away from mock meats. Which really sucks. The stigma of mock meat needs to come to an end tbh 😢

Personally I’m not a fan of mock meats as I never cared for the taste as it tastes too realistic to me but I understand many like it. All the sandwiches had some sort of mock meats so I could never buy a sandwich from there so it goes both ways

Apparently it has to do with the fridges. That’s the answer that I got when I asked WHY the vegan products are in between conventional products… I told them I spend so much time wasting looking for vegan stuff that it makes me not wanna come anymore. I do most of my shopping at Lidl now

You have lots of plant range in yours….Hardly anything in my m&s in Exeter but there was always too much mock meat type things in mine for my liking anyway so I hope the new range is a little more varied.❤

I am a regular shopper at M&S and they often rebrand ranges and add and remove items. They have just done this with the Gastropub range. You can expect to see some new products too. However the new range may not show up until January as a lot of space will be dedicated to Christmas food over the coming weeks.

Thank you for helping us to understand and process these potentially worrying scenarios! I'm torn. I'm all for vegan stuff interspersed with non vegan, to encourage more to eat kindly and ethically. But I also really liked us having our own section. I'd like both tbh and I'll admit I'm struggling to find stuff with the new arrangement. But it's early days. And if it's proven to help animals then I'm fine with the small inconvenience of course. We'll find out in the fullness of time, I guess! Thanks for always looking for and reminding us of the positives in any given situation 🙏

In fact the whole section had disappeared and there were only a few bits in the freezer. I really hope they continue the range. I love there plant range and as always with M& S it’s good quality.

After watching your vid this morning I nipped into our M&S in North East Lincs hoping to maybe bag a bargain. It's not somewhere I go often as their plant-based range is not huge. The usual couple of shelves had gone and a helpful staff member explained it was being interfiled. There is still dedicated Gluten Free shelves though. No cake whatsoever sadly except a very expensive brownie. It's always crazy busy so it took me ages to find anything and there really didn't seem much. No mention of re-branding. I have had those fish-less cakes lots of times though. I must admit they are really good! I was hoping to find the vegan chocolate cake in a jar. It's sinful! 😄X

They are putting there vegan range in with the meat range, there will no longer be a separate fridge for the vegan range, this was on the m&s website, so as too encourage non meat eaters, but I'm not going down the isles of death so won't be shopping there anymore😡. It also won't be in the recognisable blue logo.

The M&S by me, is big store. But has always been very poor for vegan offerings. Usually all they have, is the kyiv and the pizza, but that's it. They've never had the Victoria sponge 😢. And I'm sure the rebrand, is going to be mixed in with everything else. So no dedicated space.

My dad used to get cross with my mother for spending money in M and S as he said they gave money to the Tory party. This was in the 70 s just before Mrs Snatcher THATCHER ruined our country. I do shop in there for special treats as they do a nice mushroom soup which is vegan. I tend to buy the reduced stuff and a few other items as treats. Enjoy your purchases, guys 😊

I have suffered from IBS for years so I personally would never buy plant based anything and would rather go for natural foods that are not highly processed. So therefore I do not take any notice of any of these food brands. This is just my thoughts but great video guys.

I was in M&S today, I asked where the Plant Kitchen range was, and they said they were spreading it out around the store, so pizza with the other pizzas, pies with the meat pies etc...

I read on plant based news online that m and s yes were rebranding and trying to include less "vegan meat" in their recipes but what concerned me is the article also said they were not giving their plant products a designated area any more in store but putting them beside their meat or dairy counterparts on the shelves.Our local m and s in Milngavie doesn't have a plant based area anymore .When we went in this week we were told the products were around the store.Hope Ihis article is wrong .

Just a thought. Placing vegan products throughout the store beside associated non-vegan products will put these items "in the face" of non-vegans. Maybe some will try them out. Non-vegans walk right on by the dedicated vegan areas, never giving these products a second thought.

Hey guys, loved the vlog, so many things I need to try out from their range for sure! Off topic but not sure if your Instagram messenger is active as I know you have been having problems with the unwanted messages but just to say I sent a message regarding Pigs in the wood Sanctuary in Scissett. Not sure if you are aware of the Sanctuary but it’s about 50 minutes from Oldham. It might be a good video idea for the future and they also have a £30k go fund me to try to raise funds to rebuild the pig shelters that are falling down. I believe since March they have only been able to raise around £1300 so far. We don't have m and S here in Limerick (Ireland) we only have m and S in Dublin or cork so its very far away but they already got rid of vegan sections 😢😢😢now they mixing it with dead Animal section I'm sad about that 😢but hopefully non vegans will go vegan ❤❤❤
