I don't really care if it's CGI or not as long as it looks good. I'm pretty sure Deadpool's mask isn't entirely practical all the time either. It would also be weird for them to have Deadpool always have his mask on but treat Wolverine this way. ALSO I think it's weird people came to the conclusion it's CGI because of this. It's in the promotional stuff but not in any clips used for the trailer yet. This doesn't have anything to do with whether or not it's CGI. I guess people think maybe the CGI wasn't ready or something so they couldn't use those clips yet? idk. I mean a fan edit of the trailer already shows him with the cowl and it's convincing as hell. I'm sure it wouldn't take a film team of effects artists THAT long to do. I also think CGI might be better given how tightly it wraps around his head. Maybe give Hugh Jackman a green or grey-MoCap.... cap... that gives his head that bald shape and doesn't cover the face but goes around his head. I mean that's how they usually are anyway. And that way they can track the cowl on his head as well as adults the shape easily.

I have a theory that every clip used for the trailers, every still shot of Wolverine is specifically shown without the mask on purpose. The promotional art and other merchandise probably show the mask because that’s how Wolverine will actually be shown in the movie. There’s no point in editing out the mask for merchandise. Lol

I’d like to point out that most times these figures are based off the CG models or even just the CG models made into a toy or statue. For example, the NWH suit with toms face, you can tell is the CG model because it looks more like the NWH cgi model of toms face used in the movie than actually tom hollands face.

I hate that Wolverine isn't wearing the mask in most of the actual trailers and stuff. We've literally only gotten two (you could try saying three but the third is literally just one of the first two but facing the other direction) promo art images of it and it's not even in the trailer whatsoever. First they give it sleeves, then when they take the sleeves off they take the shoulderpads off with it, and they're not showing the mask whatsoever, it's getting ridiculous at this point. Don't bother doing a suit from the comics if you're going to half-ass it. We've already waited 24+ years for the comic accurate suit, they shouldn't keep blue balling us with it.

I believe the cowl will be real in a scene or two. But for the rest, it’s cgi, ALSO consider Marvel was on a huge nanotech mask phase for a while, which was all cgi, the last time we saw it, was the mask for Thor in Love In Thunder. Consider this too… a slick mask that fits like a ski mask will be easier to maintain and act while filming, while a cowl with giant antlers can be a bit more troublesome.
