Good morning Sir, did follow your instructions and was able to change my old converge router settings, but after I restarted the router, I am unable to connect to it via wifi. It just says connecting then disconnect after 5-10 seconds. I have no problem connecting to it via wired.

You can't. It will only stop if you are directly connected to an ISP. Since it is now only an extender, it will blink.

Not advisable na baguhin ang settings ng main router mo. Madaming settings dyan na preset ng provider mo, na kapag nabago, maloloko na connections mo.

Baka yung router naka-set sa 50mbps max somewhere in the settings. Or it could also be the cable. It's best to use CAT7 or higher LAN cable

I haven't tried using that model yet as a repeater, but it's the same Concept. You might just encounter a different menu from the router, but still the same steps. Also, since your source is Converge, your static IP. should be 192.168.100.X where X is any number between 2 to 254 (I suggest higher number to avoid duplicate IP address)

What do you mean by "changing host IP Address"? Please note that all the changes described in the video should only be applied to your extra router, NOT the main ISP router. We are only creating a Wi-Fi extender here. We should NOT modify anything from the main router

Sobrang dami pong possible scenarios para hindi gumana ang router. At mahirap po i-isolate yan kung wala sa akin mismo ang router. At pinakamahalaga... HINDI po ako expert sa routers. Kaya wala din po akong idea sa iba't ibang issues ng router na to. HINDI po ako technical support nyan. 😂 Nag-experiment lang din po ako sa mga lumang routers na meron ako. Same process lang. Walang pinagkaiba. Yung kokonektahan mo naman na main ay PLDT din. Yung static IP lang dapat unique sa network. Yung 192.168.1.xx ... Yung xx dapat unique. Gawin mo lang mataas. Mga 180 to 250.

There's a lot of factors to consider here, like the static IP might already been used by other devices, the spare router might not be resetted correctly, steps you might missed, the extra router might already be faulty, etc. etc. Sorry, it's hard to isolate these things if the extra router is not in front of me.

I'm confused. You are connecting to a converge router and you are concerned of the PLDT's AP isolation? What is the main source and what is the extender? In any case, once you reset a router and disable dhcp, there will be no more trace of any AP isolation from that router.

Tried calling so many times on their hotline, but seems like there will be no help at all from them. So I'm thinking if I will connect my devices on the repeater (converge router), it will bypass the AP isolation of the main router(PLDT). Parehas ng model ng wifi or ng router? If parehas ng model ng router, same passwords lang dapat. Pag ayaw gumana, ibig sabihin napalitan na. Yung user at password ng WiFi SSID at ng Settings, pati IP address, mare-reset yan kapag ni-reset mo ang router. Babalik sya kung ano yung nasa sticker sa likod ng router. Yung admin password kapag napalitan na, kahit i-reset ang router, hindi sya nare-reset

It's hard to trace all your steps with a chat/comment, so I suggest that you reset the router and begin from the start again. Please follow each step and listen to the explanation. Do NOT skip ahead the video. Explanations are mentioned in the video for a reason. Also, very important, you are only resetting and changing the settings of the old router. DO NOT change anything on your main router.

Nope. You need to connect the repeater modem to the LAN of the Source Modem. Just like your source modem needs physical cable connected from the provider

Try to reset the router (your extra router, NOT the main ISP router) and repeat. Kung ayaw talaga, baka may issue na yung old router

@@karlnope9286 This process has nothing to do with the main router. You are only setting up an external router to connect to your main router as a repeater. You should only reset and change the settings of your external router. You do NOT need to change anything from the main router. That's very clear from the video. So, unless you changed the settings of your main router (which is really bad and was NEVER ever endorsed in this video), I don't think the problem on your main router is related to any of this.

Maraming pwedeng dahilan nyan. Source connection, rj45 cable, yung mismong router, etc. Try to isolate the issue. Or try to reset and redo everything

I don't get your question. It is a router. It transmits wifi signal. The usual mode of using it is wireless already. If you mean use it wired... You can just plug LAN cable to lan port 2, 3 and 4 going to your device (tv, laptop, etc)

Now, your second comment is better, but I'm still confused - you said ground floor and 1st floor - aren't these just the same floor? Anyway, the distance is irrelevant. Even if you put the old router to the other house, or even if it is just beside the main router, you will always need to connect the old router to the main router via LAN cable. The old router needs a source of connection, and it can only get that through a wired LAN cable connection, there's no other way.

Should be at the back. If its not ther anymore, try to search for common user/password... But there's no guarantee they will work. You should have checked first before resetting.

Bakanyung old router mismo may issue? Kapag ok na ang wifi connection mo from extender router, dapat ok na din ang LAN ports nya. Unless sa setting mismo ng router naka-disable ang LAN ports.
