@@ethank4692absolutely wrong, and it shows you have no idea about umpiring but just love to bash on them. The reason for most of the ejections is refusal to stop arguing after being told to do so and having been given an adequate amount of time to make a point, which is part of the standards for removal of the game, so umpires are required to eject the offender if that happens. You give the manager or whoever is arguing time to make his point, you tell him what you have and if, after a bit, the argument starts going in circles, meaning no new information is brought up, you tell them that the discussion is now over. If they continue to argue (with no new information or points brought up), the offender has to be ejected. Umpires don't make up the rules, but they have to enforce them.

Handled like a Boss.. This was perfect all the way around. Collins had a right to be pissed. Sure. I get it. Tempers were gonna flare. All expected.

If the mlb wants to introduce younger fans to the game, they need to make content like this a regular occurrence. This is fantastic

Terry's and Tom's interaction here, both respectively representing the Mets and MLB as a whole, to me signify simultaneously the best and worst aspects of humanity. This video is beautiful. Thanks for the preservation!

I love this mic’d up so much, it shows how the unwritten rules of baseball are handled on the diamond. Not only that the umpire called him down…for the most part. It just shows the raw emotion of baseball, it’s awesome!

When Terry comes in: _Normally my prospects of coming back alive from a meeting with Nicky were 99/100. But this time, when I heard him say "a couple hundred yards down the road", I gave myself 50/50_

This is what we live for in sports. Even the MLB themselves make compilations of ejections, it's part of the game, and these heated arguments are too, and it's awesome.

Huge Mets fan. Hated the decisions TC made as a manager, but this audio was insight to how despite not being the best strategist, Terry had his players' backs. And Tom Hallion is great here too, defending the rookie ump and taking the brunt of TC's rage, and also disclosing how he disagreed with MLB's lack of discipline to Chutley. And of course for introducing "ass in the jackpot" to the common vernacular. Just a great video all around.

Tom Hallion is a true blue baseball G. Understands the emotions and passion, and has tolerance for the people involved. Class act.

Thomas Cristo Hallion was also protecting one of his crew who was working the plate that night. He got Collins away from him ( He’s a better man than me; c**sucker would have started a fight with me) and let him get his grievance off his chest.

For those who don't understand what's going on, the previous season the batter, whose last name is Utley, came around second base in a way completely unheard of and uncalled for and slid into the mets second baseman so hard he did a flip. Then to ice the cake the dodgers managers challenged the call to say the second basemans foot wasn't on the bag when he caught the ball, so Utley was safe after all that. They wanted to hit him with a baseball BAD.. and Syndergaard here was about the 4th pitcher to give it a shot.
