Thanks a lot Emma. Really, I don't know how I can thank you, but the most important thing that I will tell about it is that" go ahead. You are humble, modest, respectable and smart teacher."

Hi Emma! I’m so grateful to having you here on KZbin, thanks a lot. Here you go some suggestions of the most endurance subjects for Brazilians immerse in an English real world as: Gerunds, have got to (gotta), subject verb agreement, don’t using ‘like’ as a conjunction, few X a little, linking words/ conjunctions and the specific use of present perfect X past simple. Personally I’ve struggled with this matters. Cheers!

4:10 - These are great sentences to interrupt, Emma! Often, non-native English speakers will just say, "Excuse me," which sometimes comes across as very rude (even though they are not trying to be rude)!

8:58 Correct me if I'm wrong, but..."I'm (I am) almost finished my point" Perhaps "I've (I have) almost finished my point," or "I'm almost finished with my point," would be a bit better. The way you have it feels awkward, or maybe colloquial.
@superduperenglishidioms4 жыл бұрын
I think you are right; "I'm almost finished my point," sounds incorrect grammatically, but people definitely do say it like this! So, it must be colloquial.

@8:38 why did you use the passive voice in "I'm almost finished my point."? Shouldn't it be I almost finish my point?
@MAAU-tz1yc5 жыл бұрын
That's another alternative to refer to something that you just wrapped up a short time ago, I'm done/finished with my workouts which means I am no longer doing something because it is already over.
@anna28095 жыл бұрын
That is exactly what I thought. It can be passive but for me one word is missing- WITH: I'm almost finished with my point. Without "with" I would say it in past simple or present perfect.
@tahirmalik89495 жыл бұрын
I think the sentence is wrong altogether, forget the passive and active voice.

We often interrupt when the speaker does not make a good and clear illustration or explanation on a certain or specific point of the subject, so you need to stop him/her to shed more light to make sense.
