진짜 도움이 돼요! 감사합니다! I always cook with my Korean mother-in-law but sometimes I don't know which words to use. I always wondered why boiled eggs were 삶은계란 and not 끓인 계란!

@@ConversationalKorean Could you also please do a video on vocabulary to use at the bank (for example, depositing a check, or withdrawing cash)? I use a Korean bank in America, and they speak English but I look Korean so sometimes they speak Korean to me, and I would like to be able to speak in Korean back. When I go, I only say, "봉투 주세요" and "수고하세요" in Korean. :)

I have ah-ha moment! 볶다 -- 어묵볶음, 감자볶음 튀기다 -- 튀김가루 부치다 -- 부침가루 찌다 -- 계란찜 비비다 -- 비빔밥, 비빔면, 비빔국수 무치다 -- 오이무침 조리다 -- 장조림 I love Korean food. My cooking specialty is 반찬, lots of 반찬! I give you many likes 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Do you have lesson for kitchen items (cup, plate, bowl, spoon, chopsticks, pot, pan); tastes (sweet, salty, sour); how to order food at restaurant (I want..., I want without..., more spicy, less spicy); weather; driving/walking directions? How can we support your KZbin page (donate money)? Your lessons are very helpful, easy to understand, good design/graphics, good length around 10 minutes or less. 👏

I can see you really like to cook, Kate! And I'm glad this video helped giving you those ah-ha moments! I will make about those videos you've mentioned here, not sure how long will it take though. And, I just feel great and very thankful just by reading your comment - maybe I will have a way to get donations in the future, but just watching my videos and leaving comments the way you do make me feel happy about what I'm doing here enough! Thanks!

Hello your video is so amazing and make me understand Korean language easier. Btw beside the hangul and the translation in english language, can you please also add or write the words how to read the hangul (like pinyin in chinese language) ? Bcs sometimes i don't know how to pronounce the hangul. Thank youu for the amazing vid

Thanks for your comment. I can understand some people want to have Romanized pronunciations on my videos, but then again, some people say they would get distracted by seeing them, and even appreciate not showing them on my videos. And personally, I recommend not to rely on Romanaized pronunciation as well since they mislead a lot in my humble opinion. I hope you understand about that.

Which one is used when boiling an egg? 끓이다 or 삶다?
@kimsihyeon7986

boiled egg는 삶은 계란(=삶은 달걀)로 자주 쓰여요. 그래서 '삶다'가 더 자연스러운 것 같아요.

I see same recipe 닭찜 and 찜닭. 왜요? 닭찜 = 찜닭 = 닭볶음탕. 어떻게?
@ConversationalKorean
@ConversationalKorean 5 жыл бұрын
I googled it a little bit, and it seems like when you cook 닭볶음탕, you stir-fry chicken pieces with pepper and veggies, while when you cook 찜닭 or 닭찜, you steam it with soy-sauce. According to many answers, the biggest difference is sauce - 고추장 (for 닭볶음탕) or 간장 (for 닭찜).
@katelily7619
@katelily7619 5 жыл бұрын
@@ConversationalKorean Ah, yes, you are right about the sauce difference 고추장 versus 간장. I didn't think about that. 닭볶음탕 is an accurate title. I stir-fry the chicken and vegetables before adding sauce to make stew. But my 닭찜 recipes are more stew-like and not really steamed. 계란찜 truly is steamed. ㅎㅎㅎ 감사합니다 선상님.
