The first part of my conversation about race with my mother in law. My goal is to have an open, ongoing conversation and to help educate through real, raw talks I would have in my mother in law's home. She shares her thoughts about watching her son cover recent protests as a journalist and her upbringing in South Carolina where she experienced racism.

WOW! Melvin's mother's story is incredibly HEAVY and after all of that she went through and her sone marrying a white woman, after knowing his mom's heartache through her experience and she is still so kind and accepting of her daughter in law is remarkable! Black women are TRULY special people in EVERY way, I'd even go as far as saying that they are most special and so few of us want to admit that about them because we are jealous etc.

Lindsay, we lived in Bethesda and I was fan of WRC. I love watching you and your husband. You have incredible chemistry. For me, I don't look at race. I am Jewish and would not want someone judging me. Your kids are adorable.

Craig is the man. That's funny as a father of three mixed kids out of five the three younger girls I always said well I got my two oldest who are white and then I have my black daughter my Puerto Rican daughter and my Mexican daughter. And I am a white male and I'd become so of a protector because are there race. I have friend told me that I'm a white man I said no I'm black I am anything but white it was harder to raise my kids of color color because of everything then it was my caucasian kids but they're still my kids and I love them just the same

That’s never going to happen until Hollywood stop making movies about how the black and Mexicans were treated especially the black folks it just brings bad memories and hatred to whites folks
