Hard to believe that Kendall Roy isn't a real person and only a character. Jeremy is an incredible, incredible actor.

He's so, so good in Succession. The scene where he breaks down hugging Shiv makes me well up every time i watch it. Few actors can portray 'haunted' quite like this guy...

@@ravenswood118 wow. I thinks hes a great sctor. We ALL have everything in there. A good player can exude them for his character. This character is at times just pitiful and others very damn stupid, overplaying a bad hand. Yet I'm still rooting for him. I believe the character won't be blackmailed anymore once he confesses. I thought that. Its happened. He can sink him quite LITERALLY still. Deal or no deal. You see. Its all just moving papers..etc. i will predict he will turn the deal with the Swede upside down...

Jeremy Strong has that mysterious undeniable and singular magic about him that I can't quite put my finger on what it is exactly. I guess it's his sincerity and sensitivity. I love how he really doesn't censor himself but just unapologetically geeks out about his characters and the acting work at the risk of sounding too serious or pretentious. But it's all real, he doesn't try to put a super self-aware veneer of second-order observation on any of it, but neither does he name drop all the authors he quotes just to sound educated. He's just sincerely blurting out all this precious insight into what goes on in his brain when he acts and he's just genuinely passionate about it. It's so refreshing and I really appreciate the extent of the empathy he portrays his characters with. Also, he's sexy as hell, that's all.

This interview is an incredible insight into Jeremy Strong, the actor, and Kendall Roy, the character. The fact that he calls Logan Roy as 'my' father during the interview, I thought, got him to bring out the Kendall Roy we know. It's astounding how much emotional loads he had to intake to become Kendall....I was so touched when he candidly admitted that taking the lead role made him feel afraid... I am so thankful that Jeremy took the role and took every bit into account... Dont think the show would have worked without his vulnerability and ernest approach to characterisation. Amazing work, thank you.

Fascinating conversation. I have seen other Succession actors discuss what sounded like “concern” regarding how Jeremy takes the character home. Meaning to say that he goes deep into the character portrayal.
