Ice Kube Qwerty The consensus I’ve gotten from the most recent interviews and podcasts is that he successfully quit drinking in mid-2016, but he still smokes weed. These are his own words at least. He definitely sounds more lucid and not-drunk is any interviews or videos since late-2016. He’s obviously caused himself some permanent damage, which is why he still has that natural slurred speech. But it’s a far cry from when he was openly inebriated before late-2016. He wasn’t stated this aspect himself, but I get the feeling that the DimeBash incident in January 2016 was probably a big part of what led him to really take quitting drinking seriously, whether it’s conscious or not. Just my take on it.

I know the bands have their own take on playing smaller venues (some love it, some hate it), but I personally love small shows. I saw Behemoth at this tiny bar in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada (The Dungeon) that was easily one of the best experiences of my life. The energy that was flying around during that show was almost too much to handle. Even got to sit down and have a beer with Nergal and Orion as well. Obviously, that's not a night that I will forget any time soon. You wouldn't think so, but the guys in Behemoth are nice as hell and just plain down to earth. There's no "rock-star" air around them. You can tell they just do it for the art. This becomes even more obvious when I tell you that I used to play that very same venue almost every weekend with my high-school band, and we didn't get paid shit lol. I know they probably made something off that gig, being as big as they are, but most bands that played there played for free. Even Cryptopsy played shows that I saw there where they didn't make a single solitary buck off it.
