Convert 5 Volts to 9 Volts PSU for Effects Pedals almost by magic!

Get a 5 Volts USB PSU and instantly create 9 Volts 400ma for guitar effects pedals - 5 volts to 9 volts its easy!
Have you ever arrived at a gig and been short of a 9 Volt power supply to power maybe effects for guitar or other similar unit? It's a mistake that can be a real pain!
How about your 9 Volt power supply fails and stops you using the effects rack for your guitar?
As well as the pressure at gigs its always a difficult thing with time, you need answers fast. Well now I can show you in this video how to solve the problem with a lowly USB 5 Volt PSU, and lets face it, often we have those for charging phones and that sort of thing right there with us.
By using the device I show in this video (and keeping the odd one in your gig bag, problem solved - no sweat!

I have been using the birdcord ( similar to this, but more powerfull ) for more than a year, I connect it to a powerbank and it is able to power my entire mini pedal board. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all the excellent videos you produce.

MyVolts Ripcord cables (no affiliation) do something very similar (but expect 5V with 3Amax input instead of 5V-9V). But their output is rated at 1.33A (12Wmax) which is enough to run my BOSS GT-1000core (rated at 670mA) and RC-5 (rated at 170mA) concurrently. In addition, they come with a 90cm cable. I did not test (or dare) the effect if polarity is reversed. The manfacturer does not state anything regarding that. But they offer 9V models with centre positive, as well.

Blimey Tony, were you in a rush to go out for a few beers? Where's the normal in depth review ? Where's the view of the insides? Seriously, you don't get something for nothing, my basic electrical knowledge suggests to get 400mA at 9V , you will need to put in about 1.5A at 5v and a lot of phone chargers won't supply that reliably. How regulated is the voltage ? Does it fluctuate with load ? Can it handle reverse polarity needed on some (Boss) pedals without damage ? So many questions....................

Ha I get it.... but would destroy it pulling it apart. I 'found' this when looking for something else and thought that it might be useful for someone out there... it does work - in my simple tests here and that was about it for this one... trust you understand and I would rather be showing a decent amp any day :).
