Convert MPC 2000xl files to MPC Renaissance Studio Touch Live X

I purchased the MPC Ren when it first came out believing the Ren " Supports samples and sequences from any MPC ever made" as printed on the box. However I quickly found out that this was not the case and could not access files created on the older MPCs. Im glad I found your video which will help me rediscover some classic gems. Hey after you converted and transferred the files to your MPC renaissance is there a change in sound quality compared to the MPCXL?

Yes, but to what degree? The older MPCs have a sound. The newer ones are great too but do they have the same character? I would say it’s extremely close. But depending on how your ears are tuned, will you notice a difference? All I can say is to me, yes. Have I worked on any of my old beats and rebounced them from the new one? Yes. So the change in quality is a give and take answer. You may lose some of the original sonics with a slight character shift but very minimal. On the upside being able to use your new plugins to add something new to your old beats is in my opinion, worth the upgrade. Peace.

Is there a way to transfer files without the 2000XL? I have the files, but no longer have a 2000XL.

not that i know of... i tried but they never load correctly.. so the best way to preserve the integrity of the original is to load it up on a 2000xl and follow the tedious process in the video. See if you can borrow one from someone you know... but if you have alot of beats you are trying to transfer be prepared to borrow it for a couple weeks. Its a long process. You can find one on ebay for as low as $250. Id buy it use it and resell it. Especially if you feel your beats are worth more than that. Good luck.
