First, congrats on the transformation. I like what you have done here. Watts = Volts X Amps 60 volt battery means you likely have 15 clusters of 21700 cells X 4 in parallel for a total of 60 cells in that big Reention battery case....their biggest shark case. As to Tuning because power is proportional to amps with a fixed number of volts, the more amps you feed the controller, the faster you go. But...there are two constraints: 1.What is your BMS rated for? It has to be well over 30 amps....or I hope so because if it isn't, when you get your new motor you will shortchange its capability. 2. your motor windings relative to the amps you push through. If you push too many amps through your stock motor, you could burn it up. Me? I would let it eat because you have a new motor coming. I would turn up the amps on your controller to about 35 amps or so. Just don't run sustained 35 amps but in short bursts it will be fun. This is what the hobby is all about. The butterflies you felt when you played Dr. Frankenstein with your bike is what builders live for. Its partly why we do it. To see, what if. PS. because I peer through the lens of product development, I would likely of solved your battery riddle a bit differently. Two 36 Volt batteries in series for a total of 72volts. One on top of the top tube where you have your big shark and one under the top tube hanging down. Split the baby. Maybe an aesthetic improvement as well because it would look more balanced cosmetically putting battery above and below the frame tube. Just a suggestion for a bit more juice. You could sell your battery on Facebook if you wanted to go in that direction. Just make sure you had big BMS's in the two separate batteries.

Limit the current and you can push full throttle continously without having to worry about the motor hub overheating. Some LCD displays have a current limiter mode, if you set it back 25% then you are at the same level as before. So say your max amp is 30A then set it to 22,5A through your display settings because going from 48->60V is a 25% increase in power.

if ya add a temp sensor, the geared hub can take a lot of abuse, well until it gets to 45c, then the nylon gears start to soften and then you cant push it as far. most i've pushed so far at least is 95A phase and 42 battery amps. you can push 2500 watts! just being mindful of heat ofc, sometimes i have fun and turn it up a shit ton and then turn it down once i get to 50ish celsius. i've also done a controller swap but still on the stock battery, it can take a lot of power surprisingly, just voltage drops a lot though.

Can you tell us or show us how the other connections are made using that controller? The stock controller has many different ends for the throttle, brake sensors, pas sensor and such but the new controller doesn't have these connections that is easy to see or understand. I have a bike similar built to that but I want to keep the internal 52v battery and get a second external and mount it up top. Do you think there's enough space to install it as you do here with the screws and nuts? Or do you think if I threaded the holes you drilled I'd have more clearance if it wouldn't already fit.
@willie671
@willie671 Жыл бұрын
if you put nuts the stock battery wouldnt be able to slide in, and i wouldnt trust threaded screws holding a heavy battery on the thin metal. also trying to do the same thing, best idea i've come up with is to take the battery out of its housing and then slide it in and use nuts. but then how would it be secure? being able to remove the battery is a big deal for me as i cant take it inside so i gotta charge the battery seperately.

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. kzbin.infoUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

So you converted to 60v at alot of expense and time, yet still only getting 1000watts and the same speed as a 48v system, also, you pretty much replaced all the ebike parts so why not just get a standard bike and fit it all to that ? I have a engine pro and can get 31mph from a 48v 1000watt peak and not worry about burning my motor, seems like alot of expense for no gain
