NEVER PULL A BOX TRAILER WITHOUT A SWAY BAR.... i just rolled my truck and trailer due to a high wind gust compounded by black ice. Almost lost my wife and kids. I've been towing my tool box around for years. I know not to panic brake but it doesn't take much before its just beyond control. Never thought i needed a sway bar for a little 7x14 TA. I didn't have one. I'll never do that again. This advise may just save your life. PS. Nice trailer. I'd like to show you my new one when i get her done. Everyone was jealous of my old one.
@TheNomadStudio6 жыл бұрын
You are right, Bob! We did a lot of research about safe towing. So, we had a Pro Series sway control bar installed before our 1st trip (Alaska). We are glad we did this, it saved us in many circumstances. We will be glad to hear about your build!

You don't need one if you have a decent vehicle towing it, but smaller SUVs and cars yes it helps tons. All 1 ton trucks you are completely fine.
@cletusvandamme62625 жыл бұрын
@@ThePhool1 Oh, come off it! I tow extensively with my One-ton pickup and his setup is just fine for his application. You need to take a good look around at how things are done in Canada, and the whole rest of the world, to understand that you do NOT need all of that crap just to tow a tiny, light, single axle trailer. You're not impressing anyone with your pseudo-Macho arrogance and holier-than-thou overkill. I suspect that the only thing you ever carry in the back of your "truck" is a couple of aluminum beer cans and the only "off-road" use it gets is a gravel driveway. "Children should be seen and not heard." There's some good advice for 'ya, Junior.

Nice work. I have been looking at small micro trailers I can pull with my VW TDI diesel sportwagen without hurting MPG. I also want the option to still haul stuff like a motorbike and then camp out in the trailer. I am going to make one. The factory stuff seems pretty poor quality. I can put the best systems in and customize it to my mission for little money.
@cletusvandamme62625 жыл бұрын
"...without hurting MPG." You, of all people, should know a thing or two about Physics. How does wind resistance increase as a function of frontal area? What about weight and the coefficient of friction? Simply put, it all takes WORK to move this extra mass down the road. There is no such thing as a "Free" Ride. You will be sorely disappointed by the hit your TDI will take in fuel economy.

At the beginning it says you installed a shower partition wall but it shows the shower in front of the wall. Is the toilet behind it? I think the shower and toilet would have looked better both behind it. I'm guessing there is a reason you did it this Way?
@TheNomadStudio7 жыл бұрын
Behind the partition wall, it is only the trailer's V-Nose area. Since it is an acute space, we built 3 storage shelves to use it as our wardrobe area. We just place the porta-potty inside the 2*3 ft RV shower tub.

Hello Sarah! An empty 6*12 cargo trailer weighs about 1200 lbs. Our converted trailer's dry weight is around 2500 lbs and once fully loaded it weighs anywhere between 2800-3000 lbs. I would suggest you to look at tear drop trailers which usually weighs under 1000 lbs
@etiennemenard6306 жыл бұрын
Wow.... when I saw the Murano pulling this trailer, I was hoping you had kept it well below 2000 lbs... Are you at all concerned about hauling almost double the max (U.S.) tow rating of the Murano? So how does the plumbing (grey water) work? Where does it exit/ drain
@TheNomadStudio3 жыл бұрын
The kitchen sink outlet drains into a 5 gal portable can. For shower, it drains directly down to the ground, where we use a portable 16qt oil catch pan to collect it. Oil catch pan used for automobile is much cheaper than a regular portable RV grey water tank.

Looks nice clean build. Wow $10k !! Trailers run about $3k new for a ‘6 x 12’ with brakes and $2k -$3k on a decent interior build includes solar goodies. For $10k you could have bought a very nice smaller factory built with more amenities. Pulling with that car is not wise for the weight. Bigger SUV , van or 1/2 ton truck would be safer. People make that mistake pretty often because Nissan tells you you can. Good for their parts and repair business.

If this is not enough space for you, you have too much stuff. Show God how much you love Him back, and spend every ounce of energy you can loving on PEOPLE like Yeshua said. When asked a decent question, he gave a straight answer. Which is the greatest of the commandments? If you already know the answer he gave from learning in Sunday school, good, remind yourself of the answer. If you don't know anything about this passage or where to find it, it's not like me to just post the answer, there's a lot to it -what commandments? Who's Yeshua? And stuff like that. #hisnameiYehoVAH
