I enjoy seeing the little steps needed to maintain very old cars. Lots of channels post the big dramatic stuff; only ITG shows the nitty gritty work.

Thank you for the update , Mike . This pile of parts has come a very long way , to where it is now . One step at a time , gets the job done . Here's an idea to try next time you drill out anything on a Bridgeport , that you want to tap the hole in too . Do each hole , drill it , tap drill it , & use the slow speed in the gearbox(top right side , above the press handle) . You don't have to tap it all the way , just start the tap in a thread or 2 . Reverse out . This uses each change to center up on each hole in one go , & the tap will be square to the piece as long as it is flat . Saves on tooling too . Once you are centered , & you start , don't move anything until you've tapped it . Can finish hand tapping the rest of each hole after . It's the most efficient way to work on most things in life . One thing at a time . She looks better every time you show it . I have never seen a car , that far apart , down to panels at the seams , be set up & put together to make the car cab whole again . 12 volts & a windshield , done !

Good work! I still think it's so cool that you put this together after it had been reduced to parts! When you said "bringing it to spring", did you mean Carlisle? I'd like to see it! I bought my ticket and booked my lodging, can't wait . Being a Californian, I've wanted to hit Carlisle and Hershey since I was a teenager in the late seventies. I guess like Eastern guys want to hit Pomona, Turlock, and the GNRS

Not everybody has number drills, but the correct tap drill size is 21. Why didn't you just use the whole Y block generator? I think we all like seeing Mike and Steve doing videos.

Because it doesn’t bolt up to a flathead intake.

@@IronTrapGarage I was wondering the same thing as kodak_jack. Mike didn't install the generator on the intake in the middle of the engine, it's hung out on the drivers side over the head.

Mike just a suggestion, Next time you have a new peice of Lami before you install it, Get some Clear fingernail polish & paint the edges to protect from any moisture from working its way between the glass & the lamination! burrp!

Chip away. Use a portable heater, oil or ceramic for localized heating on cold days working upstsirs. Drivable spring/summer.
