Hard to believe I've been following this build for 6 years and still eagerly waiting for the next video!

You ain't the only one eagerly waiting. LOL Hate to guess how many of us are, but definitely worth the wait.

You are not alone. This is my top build I've been following from day one. His progress is slow, but his craftsmanship more than makes up for it.

Good work man. Just a little advice for sweating fittings on and doing any kind of soldering work. Flux, heat the part, move the flame away and let the heat of the part draw in the solder. Don't use it like brazing you'll have a much stronger connection with less risk of leaks.
@saltbeltupstateny48579 күн бұрын
Always wipe the joints… looks better, and you can see any potential leak areas.. been sweating copper for 50 years..

Solid advice. I also agree with the wipe joints. A little lead in the solder would also help. Looks like you are using lead free.

As usual, awesome work! Tat car is beautiful! Again, PLEASE make it road legal and take it to meets. If you run into overheating issues on raceday or something, make a shroud around the fan. If that doesn't work you have to add a row to the radiator ...
@wilburfinnigan21429 күн бұрын
jonasbjork6593 I doubt he will ever be able to license that thing in California, emission standards can't be met and unless he can get some type of waiver he will never drive it on the street.

Hopefully it stays that cool with the bonnet/Hood covering the engine, They sell waterless coolant that is ment to runs quite abit cooler than water if needed👍🏻

@@wilburfinnigan2142 I'd just buy an old rotted out junk car with a clean title and put the vin on it. Just so you can get plates for it. Anyone asks its just heavily modded. Really unless you're being an absolute idiot there is no reason you'd get in trouble. I once got pulled over in a newer F350 for speeding, had just bought it so I had tags from a 2005 expedition we had. Cop literally did not care, didn't even mention it. Not much difference between this and all those countless beetles and fieros kitcars.

Glad to have you back on the Speedster! That hole on the filler cap is perfect for expansion tank line. The fuel filter cap can be fixed with some lead/solder and either lathe or drill press and rotating table. Those diagonals were very nice touch. Also an honorable mention on the grommet for the fuel hose. Top notch! The expansion tank is a better choice than just an overflow tank, it keeps the system filled and slightly pressurized. This pressure takes out micro bubbles making the system more efficient and less maintenance.

So good to have you back! Your running-on problem is due to a too-high idle speed. Get it down to around 650 rpm and you should be good. Also, add a another fitting to the filler neck and fit an expansion tank to the side of the radiator. Not only does it keep the radiator full but also adds some extra water to your system. I also tin my joints before soldering and it definitely makes for a stronger joint.

Oh my gosh! The man, the myth, the MacroMachines LEGEND has returned! 🎉 Like many others here have already commented, I too, am pleased to see you back and still committed to your Speedster. I had actually checked in on your channel sometime between Christmas and New Year's, and then earlier this past week, thinking that perhaps you may have uploaded something new at that time, found nothing, and then got a little worried. It's good to hear that you've now got the car with you in California and that you will be able to resume work on it there. Now more than ever, I'm in need of uplifting, inspirational displays of creativity/ingenuity that will in turn, hopefully prompt me to earnestly resume taking on my own projects, and I'm probably not alone in that regard. As always, I'll be looking forward to your next uploads on this, or any other similar projects you're taking on in your (presumably increasingly limited) spare time, and thanks for taking us all along for the ride!
