We are smelling gas and can’t figure out why. Also it seems like it has to much pressure. Flames are coming out of the knobs 😳 What do you think??

While I’ve watched a load of videos on doing this, I’d like to get written instructions. I see that you have them. Did they come with your stove, or do you know where you can get written instructions??

IMPORTANT××× THere are 2 kinds of orfices. One is univeral meaning your same orcice can work for both gas by tightening down nut for propane or loosen off for natural gas. There is an interior orfice point but its hole size is opened or restri ted by this tighteni g a tion.Seems to be whats shown BUT these types were often found in and before pre late 50s stoves. This range is new so Im thinking hes botched it. Wont get great tight 1/2inch blue flames no matter how much he adjusts it. There should ha e been a conversion kit with orfices to swap out sold with range. He didnt mention in video doing this. The more common type you find in ranges is where you remove that nut/tube completely off and change out the little jet now exposed, inside where nut/tube came off. Propane jet will have tiny tiny pin point hole in its point, natural gas comparatively is obviously much larger. The result of leaving large holed natural gas orfice in a propane powered range will be HUGE fames, not just bigger flames... propane is 4x more pressure than natural gas hence the way tiny hole.
@smiller852 Жыл бұрын
This is not necessarily true. My stove that I have is from the 90s and it specifically says in the Owner's Manual that the orifices are sized for the gas pressure delivered by the regulator. So if he's flipping the plunger in regulator to propane, it's likely coming through at 10 inches water column and the orifice is sized to handle that level of pressure. The tightening of the orifice controls the air shutter to the burners.

Hmmm if you have a flame more yellow than blue flame it means is not regulated right.. yellow flame will burn black your pots... Blue flame dont.
@jaycos49054 жыл бұрын
Sorry dude, any flame should never have yellow cuz that’s gas that’s not being burned and can cause serious damage. You still need more adjustment.
@scottmckinney42913 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s what I was wondering. Other videos said the purchase of a kit with smaller orifice is necessary.
@bradcreamer97442 жыл бұрын
It’s just how this stove is. I have the same one I had to go out and rig it up lol
@JonDoe-0072 жыл бұрын
You need to replace the orifice to a propane orifice. It's a "conversion kit" thats sold separately

You didn't show the nost important thing which was how or where you hook the propane tank up at.🤔
@HomesteadingWays5 жыл бұрын
The tank is outside (300 gallon). Tubing is run in and attached the back of the stove. Similar to a natural gas hook up.

That stove is not properly converted , you shouldn’t have flames coming into the oven, and the top burners have yellow , I am a licensed LP technician, it’s not correct, your cookware will turn black.
@HomesteadingWays6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you're right. He had to continue to adjust it.
