For the band that I think was the prototype punk band, check out the Who, especially early Who - Young Man, My Generation, Substitute - all were early punk anthems to an early teen hearing them back then.✌️❤️🎶

Hey, I just stumbled onto your channel, and I really like your format. I also liked what you had to say about that Jefferson Airplane performance, which I’ve always really loved, for the reasons you mentioned. I also genuinely LOLed at the comment about wishing your dad had been into JA rather than the Beatles. In the early days , they had a bit of a punk attitude for a hippie band from San Francisco. This is great. Keep it up.

Marty Balin and Paul Kantner (rhythm guitar) were the founding members of the band. Marty wanted more of a folk/blues sound to the band. This song shows off the marvelous vocal interplay between Marty and Grace that the band was known for. We Built This City is a song by Starship, not Jefferson Starship. Jefferson Airplane splintered into Jefferson Starship (Paul, Grace & Marty) and Hot Tuna (Jorma Kaukonen & Jack Casady.) Marty eventually left and Grace went into rehab before returning to the band. That's when Paul hired in Micky Thomas as the lead vocalist. Paul eventually left the band, sued to keep the "Jefferson" and won, at which time the band became just Starship.
