That question is thumbnail "do we ever finish it?" Of course not, even if get new big house, it has something to fix for end of times. We we were thinking of buing a house, our friend said that "old houses, it is all time-living! There is no moment of free." Thumbs up of getting upstairs concreted! Plenty hard work, even with powerr-nuts!

So so true! Thank you! We’ll take a few weeks to finish that slab for sure. It’s such hard physical work and we dont want to burn out again 😅🫣

The cantina is looking fantastic and you are making so much progress with the hayloft. So jealous of that burrata you were tucking into. Congratulations and enjoy!

Thank you so much Michelle! We’re so excited to finally start up there 🥳🥳 believe it or not but I buy these giant burratas at LIDL and they are SO good 😂🙏

I so appreciate the shots of the Alps in the distance, this is such a beautiful place in the world. Once we get our similar hayloft remodeled we will have a great view of the Alps from the upstairs. My son's place is so similar, it is one big, long building rather than an L shaped place like yours. Life is meant to be a great adventure, it seems you have found this in your life.

It looks so amazing already !! 😍🎉 You know what could help you with the watering of concrete slab - jute rags / cotton rags spread it on the slab and water it heavily. That way you only need to do it once a day. It’s a construction technique used here in India. Also, if you knock down that wall with holes - it’s going to give such a beautiful view 😍😍😍😍 but obviously that could be a later on project. Can’t wait to see all the progress !!! 😍😍😍😍

Thank you so much! Yeah we’ve hear about that now and if we would have had any old carpets that would have been great 😂👌 all walls will stay up in the stable since we’re in a UNESCO world heritage protected zone and cant make big external changes to the house. We also love it the way it looks now 😊

10:03 do you wanna keep that Look of the Facade? It might look good to remove the terracotta blocks in the middle section and install 3 identical glass doors there to enjoy the view. Is it possible to build a metal staircase on the outside right of the house, like a fire escape in the USA?
@OurItalianDreamHouse8 ай бұрын
Good questions! Due to be in a Unesco protected zone we have to keep the facade reasonably the same. It's possible to have big glass doors put in, but the planning permission and approval process is not the easiest. Often you have to put the glass behind the terracotta bricks and leave the bricks in place. Plus, at the moment we don't have the budget to complete that kind of project 😊

have you considered taking out that middle section of obscuring bricks to open up the view further?
@OurItalianDreamHouse8 ай бұрын
No. We’re in a UNESCO protected zone so making too big external changes to an old building like that is not allowed. The bricks are also typical for this Piedmontese cascina and we love them!

Min farfar brukade lägga gamla trasmattor på betongen och vattna för att det inte skulle bli för torrt. Så håller liksom trasmattorna fukten❤️
