I would really love if you guys made a video start to finish on the process of welding the center diff, the shots of you welding it were a little short and I'd love to see the full process and a more detailed description of where the welds need to happen!

Yes, admittedly we didn't film much because Dave was doing the welding when I wasn't around. He was concentrating on the job rather than the video. If we have to do another diff we'll get more footage!

Can't seem to find it now, but there are at least a couple videos out there and also a website selling plans now. I'll make another comment in case it goes to spam.

The latest revision is 38913AA102 but very expensive direct from subaru. You can get a whole gearbox for the same price.

Without front axles you get very light steering feel.

I didn't notice much difference when the front axles came out. Same with the front bumpsteer kit - couldn't tell the difference!

At first we left them in. After about a year we removed them to save weight when we made hub knuckles with more steering angle

If the diff is welded correctly you can leave the front driveshafts in the gearbox - you don't have to remove them at all!

Is welding rear diff essential to do? Or can I get away with it being how it is

You'll need a limited slip diff at a minimum, but locked is night-and-day better. With an open diff you'll send all your horsepower through one wheel and get the one tyre fire.

vPerformance yep I’m doing my v7 sti wagon so it will be a factory lsd have you guys had many problems with it since doing it? I’m pushing 20psi and have 10” wheels on so I’m considering going for 7.5” instead cause I hear it can snap axels pretty easy
