Converting VRChat Avatar to Vtuber Tutorial

A little scuffed but im proud of how quickly i got this out!
might do a more in depth deep tutorial at a later date!

For those who need assistance or further elaboration! here is the best way for that!!! 1.) Follow me on twitch! i do unity streams often and love answering questions while i'm working 2.) Join my discord! I have an 18+ DISCORD server with a help channel where everyone can help each other, its hard for me to reply to every comment i get on here TwT here --> discord.gg/8UxX5Qs7ce 3.) Join my friends discord my friends sat, luna and wraith runs an all ages discord server full of help channels with tons of unity/blender users! here --> discord.gg/patchworks 4.) join the server of the avatar in question most of them have discord servers available with their own help channel that caters specifically for the avatar your working with, i own alot of avis but i dont own or use a chunk of them so im not as familiar with their setup like i am with say the nova beast! so this is super helpful place to start! im really sorry, theres just so many comments and questions i have a hard time replying or keeping up cuz even i dont have all the answers

This is just something I figured out for myself but i had some error codes and the VSF SDK/VRM0/UniGLTF applications weren't popping up for me at the top so make sure if you have this issue you go to EDIT - PROJECT SETTINGS - XR PLUG IN MANAGEMENT and enable it. Should clear the errors and you should have access to the applications now. ALSO GREAT VIDEO THANK YOU FOR THIS

If you drag and drop your bones into the Root Bones it will automatically update the number of bones. You don't have to count them up :) In addition!! You can add them all at the same time by holding CTRL and clicking the bones you want before dragging. Hope that helps and also saves you some time :3

I tried this and I am unsure how your suppose to select them all and also click on the secondary to drop it on the root bones. Holding CTRL and clicking on the bones does select them into a bundle however the moment I click off the secondary to select the bones this way the inspector for the secondary where your suppose to drop the bones at goes away.

@@lovetawolf In the top right of the inspector there is a lock button to make it so the window wont change when you click other things. You can select multiple objects by holding ctrl while you click (or shift to select groups) Hope this helps :3

you gotta mention that if you use poi toon you have to lock in the shaders on the materials you use it on or else the materials will be pink. great tutorial though, very helpful.

when I try to drag and drop or import the vrm into the vtuber folder I get "failed to import package with error: couldn't decompress package and yes I have enough storage

When I export my variant from vcc, and import to 2019 (unity hub), none of the shaders import with it, and I get a hot pink avi.

that is most likely because of missing shaders, youll need to make sure you add your shader pack in to the unity package [for example, if your using poiyomi 8.2, youll add that unity package to your current package]

i believe there is but this tutorial doesn't cover more elaborate things like that as this is just a simple setup video, it also depends on the program you use! i recommend doing research on the program you use ect

hey this is a great, straight foward tutorial. however when i do the Blendshapes when first inporting the avatar (as you instructed), THEN do the blendshapes for the mouth movements/blinking, it doubles the shapes. so for example, my avatar's breasts would shrink every time i speak or blink. meaning i have to just manually have them set the correct way for eave vrc.AA etc i make. It takes time, but if someone else has that problem like i did, just leave all shapes set as 0, then move to 100 the A E I O U segment later

what if the original avatar has physbones? can i copy the components still and somehow turn them into springbones?

unfortunately both programs have separate script systems, vrchat scripts support physbones since it was made for it where univrm does not, its a tedious process unfortunately but the results are pretty worth it

Massive errors from importing just the plugins, haven't imported avatar yet, and XR doesn't seem to help, using 2019.4.31 and latest versions, what version of your plugins are you using? Tried rolling back a few iterations but still spammed with errors which won't let me run the project at all and menu's won't load.

in the video itself i show you how to add the clothes within unity for vtubers, for vrchat itself i do use VRCFury for most of my rigging as im not savvy in blender

it means one of yoir meshes is missing a mat. if the symbol is red is most likely on the body itself

Great tutorial! I can't seem to make the avatar blink in VSFace however. (the auto blink works and everything else but it just won't detect my blinks)

when making your blendshapes did you add the blink one? you also need a web cam for it
