FANTASTIC advice. Staying calm and analytical when it's going wrong is the hallmark of a champion.

This is one of those "Should be common sense", but few of us actually practice it. I am learning. Thanks very much for sharing Keith. Love the GT, we have had three over the last 38 years, my favorite breed.

I grew up a couple miles from an old school trap club. Great place. Old log cabin lodge. Emotion would make or break scores. There were guys who could shoot 22 out of 25 but only when everything went smooth. When a guy would miss and they were following, they would miss. Pretty soon a squad would be in the 12 area.

Hi Keith; A book I love, "Thinking Fast and Slow," by Daniel Kahneman, addresses the gut reaction vs analytical response choices. He labels these approaches System I and System II. (I'm guessing you have the book?)

I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Thank you. I always thought I was an excellent shooter. Better than average. Right up until I decided to compete. WOW ! “Better than average” simply isn’t that good at all. I’m 55 years old this year, & have learned more about shooting this year, than the previous 54 total.

I definitely don't get overly irritated when I have to scrap a day at the range and go home and waste more components to redo inconclusive tests due to human error.

"Just learn to 'Emotionally Disconnect' yourself from what your doing. Apply your skill set as best as you are able and 'be a shooting machine'. Be disciplined. There's plenty of time afterwards to have your emotional side...just be the machine while your on the line...😎👍68 (How about that...68...the year I graduated HS)
