I played music live for 20 years endless venues and when you watch this it makes me feel like wow this dude is on another level or planet... Awesome prospective. I’m not a performer but I enjoy going to as many shows as I possibly can every year. I saw Gary 5 times this year and was lucky enough to meet him once. I know he’s huge but I still think he’s heavily underrated ! He’s phenomenal.. I can’t being to explain how psychedelic his show was at red rocks. It was different than the others. They jammed on every track for about 5min before and after. Hope to see him for many more years !

How few? How few people know?... this video has 15 million views... and it's a live version... the other versions have millions of views each, too. And that's just one song... albeit it's his biggest hit. It's not a billion views, but hey, still pretty well known.
@thadlogan51 Жыл бұрын
@@GizzyDillespee us I understand he's well known in the blues community... I even remember he played at the White House for President Obama. But he's playing some pretty small gigs now...such as the one in SLC I watched. And still when you ask people about him they still have never heard of him... and that's even among musicians. But I understand as you said he's not by any means completely unknown with the numbers of KZbin hits, etc... but he's not as well known as let's say John mayer...

Something I really enjoy about soulful players such as Gary is that he takes his time to approach solo parts, leaving room for the rest of the band to be heard and build up the climax for the song. The sort of "silent" moments help you feel the real beauty of what he plays.

Song: When My Train Pulls In (Gary Clark Jr.) Lyrics Everyday nothing seems to change Everywhere I go I keep seeing the same old things And I can't take it no more I would leave this town But I, I ain't got no where else to go now Wake up in the morning to more bad news And I sometimes I feel like I was born to lose It's driving me out of my mind Gonna catch the next train And I move on down the line But I'll be ready now I'll be ready when my train pulls in Well I'll be ready now I'll be ready when my train pulls in I know my time ain't long And I can't live this life again Walking down the street you might wanna cross a smiling face But they'll stab you in the back as soon as you turn, walk away Oh Lord, it's bringing me down, yeah If things don't change around here Ain't no use in my hanging 'round But I'll be ready now I'll be ready when my train pulls in But I'll be ready now, yeah, yeah I'll be ready when my train pulls in I know my time ain't long And I, I can't live this life again, oh no

I've seen almost every live or studio song, but this is his very best interpretation of his own song.

My God, that solo is eargasmic on a cosmic level! Gary was seemingly on another plane of existence when shredding like that, torn his soul out for us on those strings... you can rarely see someone playing with so much heart and soul nowadays. Maybe the crowd there didn't appreciate it, but we here are certainly do. Well done gentlemen, amazing performance!

½ of the audience most likely never heard of GCjr before... I went to see him a good 4weeks back in a local old theatre here local and the entire house was onfire! GCjr is topnotch.
