This kid is amazing! I have known his Dad since 9th grade. We played guitar with different bands and traded licks for years! Now Marcus kicks both me and his dad's butt on guitar! I heard him sing and was blown away a second time when he was just 17 years old! I am black and have played in many bands and made a living at it and still do as a full time music teacher who plays 8 instruments. Marcus plays and sings with more soul than ANY of the black R&B and blues players that I performed with over the years. So glad to see that he is starting to get the attention that he deserves. He gets better every time I listen. Rock on Marcus!

I was able to hang out with Marcus and his dad when they played in Kalamazoo a few months back and they're both just super solid dudes on top of being brilliant musicians. His dad definitely helps to make sure he stays humble when it's so easy for kids his age to get a big head. I can't wait for him to come back around in a couple months.

That solo is suuuuuuper jazzy. And to think that he literally just improvised that on the spot blows my mind man. Insane talent. I play guitar and learning that solo has been a masterclass for me in terms of how to play a soulful bluesy solo with a lot of jazz elements throughout. He studied jazz guitar for a few years with a teacher and it really shows.

I've never cared for brass in a band other then jazz. But here it's so smooth. I like it.

Jam In The Van I am Subscriber to Norms rare guitar site, and I just saw this young man today , in a one year old vid there. Your site just showed up a couple minutes ago, with his band and I am damn glad it did. This guy is incredible for a 20 year old. Needless to say, I have watched a couple more bands on your site , and am quite impressed. So I had to subscribe, thank you
