Is the wider spill a significant amount, or just so-so? How much USEFUL throw does it have with the OP reflector? By useful, I don't mean it reflects off street signs and what not, but that it actually helps you identify or locate an object at a distance.

@@johndoe6940 I have a C8+ with OP reflector. Decent amount of spill. It easily reaches 350 meters to the tree line (320 to the gas station). Spill isn't as much as something like a catapult V6 but for the size of the light, it's pretty useable, slightly bigger hotspot. Almost a combination beam in a way (almost).... For me, being able to see 350+ meters is plenty of throw and lights up the entire gas station at 320 meters. I use it for hunting, though for searching in the woods, I prefer something with more floody/bigger hotspot with more bleeding in the beam (like the wf501b flashlight). Doesn't come close to the c8 in throw distance but it suits my needs while searching closer distances, gutting, walking dog etc... (501b). C8+ with or without OP is great

I got C8+, OP, 70.3HI 5000K R70 and S2+, SMO, SFT40 5000K R70. The beamshot looks quite the same. at least the hot spot size is kinda the same. C8+ reflector is so big, it can tame down the huge 7070 quite well enough for short range usage.

I have 5000k U6 3A version and real maximum beam distance is app. 400-420m. In a very dark condition, far away from street lights and any light pollution. New C8 rocks!

Good video and Good info @ end of video , this torch (imo) is right there with the lumintop odl20 and thrunite v6 they may have a higher lumen rate and price tag but as for performance the 8+ holds its own and you can get it in several different tints of light..

You can't really compare these lights as ive got all 3 x more c8s astrolux sofirn ect in the real world the odl20c beats them both hands down only just but for the money nothing beats the c8 from astrolux

I got the warm tint color, such a nice colorbeam on that, fits perfect on the sand body color too and the grip is alot better then oldes c8s. but i really doubt it throws 600m? the older are at like 350m or so at best. .

mortuus keep in mind the max advertised flashlight ratings are for 1/2 lumen per square meter at that distance... the C8 was still relatively bright at over 400m in Flashaholic’s vid, so I would think 600 is pretty doable.

7mm LED width will out throw the 9mm unless the 9mm has a lot more power
