Convoy protesting COVID-19 restrictions descends on downtown Edmonton again

Despite the city getting a court injunction barring loud noise, the sound of honking horns and megaphones echoed through the city core for hours after hundreds of people gathered around noon in the plaza outside the Federal Building at the legislature before marching to Edmonton City Hall.

None of them caused me any harm . I have been triple vaccinated , and so far am alive , and don`t seem to have had any side effects of the Pfizer drugs . The mortality rate for people in my age group who get Covid-19 is high . Public health regulations are NOT a new thing . If I am willing to take the RISK of a new drug , and you are not , I should get the benefit , and you should not . I can go out to restaurants , movie theatres , Home Depot , Walmart , Lowe`s , and the like . if you refuse to get vaccinated , you shouldn`t have the same rights . That is what being part of a society amounts to . My comment specifically addressed the post of someone who doesn`t seem familiar with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms .( our Constitution ) I have a copy of it about 2 feet from my left hand . Perhaps you could share what part of it keeps governments from imposing health regulations .

( Later copies of the Charter may have it on different pages .)

The measures implemented don't even work and were never part of pandemic responses in previous pandemics, for a good reason, so even if the pandemic had been more serious, they still would not have been warranted. Others might or might not have been. Also, hospitals could do with more funding. Flu season is a problem most years. The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms has written a bunch on this as well as filing Charter challenges. You can't just suspend normal day-to-day life because you're afraid or just feel like it. Political freedoms are also necessary for public health.
