I can't believe that. Looks like that s6 is a great light for travelling with a tent. It's a thrower and it's lightweight. I like convoy m1, but I will get s6 maybe sometime

The M1 is good if you need extra range and better heatsinking. I'd just get the M21B if I were you. Almost the same size. But takes 21700.

The Convoy S2/S6/S8 use the same reflectors and may have been available more than 8 years ago because on youtube there are Convoy S8 videos from 8 years ago but I only started to learn about their existence a few months ago after someone posted a Convoy S6 with NM1.

Yeah can't believe I've never heard of them before... The S2 seems to have limited configurations.

for 21700 pocket thrower try MantaRay S21 (deepest reflector than Convoy family). I have one with sst20 4000 and love it

Thank you for the video. I have a convoy S3 with 519a 4500k. I want to buy a convoy s8 with nichia 519a 5700k because it has a high cri. I need a compact pocket thrower. Do you think there will be a big difference in throwing compared to my S3? It will be enough for me to see and distinguish well at a distance of 100-130 meters

Hi mate, the S8 reflector is 2.0 x 1.9cm vs 2.0 x 1.2cm. S8 in my experience has superior throw due to the deeper reflector.

Yes, otherwise it comes with a linear driver. Also depends what led as I think it's only possible with some lower voltage LEDs.

If I wanted a S6 looking light in floody what would you recommend? S2+ looks pretty focused still

The S6 is a throwy light due to the deeper, SMO reflector. The SFT40 works nicely to produce decent flood in this light. But it's mainly throwy. Maybe check out the S21E with XHP50.3 HI

Yes, the S6 has a nice hotspot with SFT40 - I think it's actually more round and intense than in the S6 than the S2+. Didn't notice any ringiness.
