As a young African American kid, my mother took me and my brothers and sisters to the "San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo" back in 1970, Mr. Conway Twitty came out singing this songs. I believe that I fell in love with Country music at that time. What a great song! Truly a great artist, and person, Conway Twitty was... Thank you for sharing the memories.

I love this song and enjoy playing it too. As great as Conway Twitty was, his steel player John Hughey was great as well. Listen to Johns sound and the crying sound he gets out of his steel guitar. His movement with the bar hand is just perfect. Thanks for posting this video, it is awesome.

I’m not sure what people in that “growl” he always did , lol, but it was just unique To him, and that’s OK, it’s what has endeared many generations to him, and also his personality and music style. Rest in peace, never forgotten the great Conway Twitty !!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It's called vocal fry. It's a common vocal technique. Not unique. MANY singers use it. Check out Wanda Jackson for an example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqutZJufpticZrc
