Yes, I think you're so skilled that you perhaps think things you completely take for granted would not interest people. But there are an army of (former) couch potatoes/nerds/sad-barstewards/self-improvers who would like to know the mundane things, like sanding, repair of rusty bits, preparation products, etc, etc. ... And you have a talent for teaching!

We have self serve wreckers in Adelaide do they have them in Brisbane. Bonnet is $90 and their is heaps of ELs. The wreckers name got censored by utbe. Look up self serve wreckers. The bumper reflectors look poxy. I'd leave them off as the tail lights have reflectors in them I think?
@INTHEGARAGEwithGraham2 жыл бұрын
EF EL bonnets don't fit. The EF front is the same but the back where it joins the cab is xf. The guards and bonnet have to be XH van or ute.

@@INTHEGARAGEwithGraham oh really! Wow. That's one unique bonnet then.

Agreed, the bumper reflectors look poxy but when you have a set of good condition ones on a finished product with some love put into it - it just makes it look like care has been taken to keep the original aesthetic and kinda sets it off on the arse end.👌👍

Bloody great rigs, I had an XH for a few years around 2010. It towed so many loads from work to the tip, I'd lost count. Solid work horse, moved many a house for mates lol.

Good video mate, I found this channel last night and watched your first 2 episodes already. I’m from Adelaide and Daily drive my XH. I believe it’s the same colour as Brutus Galaxy Blue (GY) I believe. One day I’ll have the time to spend on mine to bring it back to its former glory. It’s my 3rd XH I’ve bought now. It’s a shame I sold the other 2 lol. I look forward to seeing more of your videos and learning techniques that’ll help me down the track.

How good are your woodworking skills Graham, having brutus there you can make up the rear bar and side skirts out of timber and plywood on brutus where you are not too worried about screws and other temporary fasteners to act as plugs that can be used to make moulds to create fibreglass pieces! Its much easier to fabricate than steel and I think if you go back to the original surfaroo those pieces were most likely fibreglass! I would love to come down to give you a hand.

Pity you can't chuck the not so good parts on Brutus and you could use him to do all the not so glamorous jobs that utes are used for. Surfaroo is looking good though. Your passing on some good tips too. thanks

The tailgate skin is the same as a XC Falcon Ute tailgate skin. It is easier to reskin than to repair. From memory the floor pan never changed from XC as well.
