It’s pronounced Ho-Gee-cha, the roasting also reduces the caffeine a bit for those who are leery about getting wired later in the day. Nice palate cleanser after all those garlic chips…

I hear you on the people who just have to go out of their way to park next to you when there are a zillion other parking spots open. I always thought that was so odd and annoying! That plate lunch and Hojicha Milk Tea looks so delicious!

Hmm ... I think "hojicha" has been around in Hawaii for quite awhile. Maybe with the older generations, since I remember my parents having it stored in tea containers. Btw, I agree with you about ample space and people still parking or being next to you. Like being at the beach ... and they want to sneak into that "prime" area 3 feet away from you. NO CLASS! 🙄

I love hojicha. Lots of boba tea spots adding to their menu. It's a nice roasted flavor not as bitter as matcha unless it's high grade ceremonial batch. Good change up of flavor. Guess he had to ease it in with umm caramel? Haha for our American taste buds, like how they sugar up the matcha 😝
