Here's a 1985 Gottlieb Ice Fever pinball machine in action for your viewing pleasure.
This machine is good, simple fun. There's not much going on, but what is going on keeps me coming back for more. Hitting the drop targets exposes the captive ball for the "goal", which also activates the backbox animation. Making the left shot to the top five times spells "FEVER" and lights the same lane for special. Hitting all three lanes to spell "ICE" lights one lane for the extra ball. When the drops are hit, they're reset by hitting the flashing goalie mask targets on the playfield.
Very appropriate sound and artwork on this machine. Makes you feel like you're at the hockey arena.
This is only one of two solid state hockey-themed pinball machines ever made, the other being Bobby Orr: Power Play by Bally in 1978 .
This game was designed by John Trudeau with artwork by Larry Day. Find out more about this game here:
