1986 Bally MOTORDOME pinball machine

Here we have a 1986 Bally Motordome pinball machine in action.
This machine has some cool shots, but is hampered by the mediocre sound and the truly massive ramp that covers too much of the upper playfield. If you can get past those detractors, the game is somewhat interesting and worth a shot.
When the game is started, the player is given the opportunity to choose a skill level. The skill levels change the scoring of the playfield but also the lane change ability and the outlane ball save gate frequency. For this video I chose "skill level 1" so I'd be more likely to have a longer game. :)
The big shot in this game is to use the upper left flipper to get the ball to the top right saucer. The upper right flipper is used to get the ball around the top left lane to the top.
Anyway, it's a fairly fun game to mess around with.

Never seen this machine played outside of Visual Pinball. This looks fun and you had a quite ok game, showing off much of what it has to offer. I agree. If the sound where improved, I could see me playing this for hours ;) Again, appreciate seeing another well done job - looks great.

Looks like it is playing great. Looks fun! Only played it once or twice at pinburgh! Pick skill level at begining of game 3 for more points!!!

Literally all they needed to do was give it new sounds and get wireform/skinnier ramps and this actually would’ve been a decent game. Maybe someday someone can make a custom sound mod or something. All complaints aside this does seem like it could be a fairly fun game… if you have earplugs.

I have this machine and got to put it my name for a high score but it never shows up do you know why?

On Bally 6803 games, one of the flipper buttons/initial entry buttons will show the high score list in the attract mode. These games won't display high score list as part of attract mode, unlike later Williams System 11 games. The game should write high score to the list after entering initials, should you reach one of the high score levels. Game's funky operation, notably the inability to take credits is the clear indication of depleted battery, which powers the SRAM, which stores settings and high score table. Motordome isn't able to reset the settings to default ones in case if battery runs out of power, the operator will have to do that manually. Later games, from Escape From the Lost World to Atlantis will check the SRAM and reset it to default values in case if the checksum validation of the SRAM fails during startup.
