Capercaillie populations are dropping because of poor breeding success due to human disturbance, lack of bilberries and an increasingly wetter spring. Turtle doves are declining because, as a migratory species, they are intensely hunted during their travels. Spain, France and Portugal used to kill millions every year. Added to that is the intense agricultural practices in their feeding grounds plus reduction of the native plant seeds they eat due to invasive species. Adders are declining through habitat disturbance, urbanisation and an increase in badgers and foxes. Badgers will eat adders and foxes eat adders prey. As the big predators that eat badgers and foxes are extinct in the UK ( bears, lynx, wolves), there may have to be some serious decisions made to reduce populations to a stable level.

@felixcore9275 you certainly aren't a professional if you're saying they're endangered when they absolutely aren't as of right now, they're just in decline and that's only within certain areas aswell, in Norfolk adders are a lot more common especially on the fields near me

@@HighFlyer6969 I never said I was a professional, just a person who often volunteers in reptile surveying in south Wales, but anyway: Yes, they are on a decline, a significant decline and to call them endangered in the UK wouldn't be a stretch at all, and thus that's what the wildlife trust classes them as. As I have already said, they are already extinct in multiple counties and this trend will only continue, they do have population "hot-spots" but nationally they are quite rare and are in massive decline. No offence mate, but you show a fair amount of ignorance with flawed logic, even animals classed as critically endangered have population hotspots where they can be classed as "common", this does however, not at all disqualify their conservation status.

@@ILoveallthegirls1 Adders are not friendly, but they are not aggressive either, they simply want to be left alone, if you're careful with an adder and are able to recognise if they're stressed, you can often handle them without them acting defensive, but in general we only handle them in very rare cases in surveying, and of course protective gear is worn nonetheless. Basically, this is just a lot of words to say that adders won't strike at you if they don't consider you a threat or predator, like with the overwhelming majority of snakes.

@camo2156 yes there are in south Australia my friends girlfriends grandfather has a tonne of tamed ones he feeds and they live under the patio. It's either them or diamond doves. But I grew up in Wollongong where the diamond dove is common and the pattern and colour don't match diamond doves. They do however Match a turtle dove.

No. Domestic cats sometimes kill songbirds, and there is no evidence that they are responsible for the declining populations of endangered birds, or really any bird. Why all of a sudden are so many people on KZbin calling for cats to be kept indoors? it’s not going to make any difference.
