@Nonjuror3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! There’s some great stuff at Loopmasters. I really like the Tracklib experience probably the most, it’s got a great search engine (say you want to find something with piano recorded in the 70’s that’s 80-95bpm…etc) - it’s easy n not so expensive to clear samples when you’re ready to release but you obviously don’e need to do that while making your beat.

Hey how do you make all the pattern variations? Do you start from a pattern copy and then add and delete a few elements?
@Nonjuror Жыл бұрын
Pretty much. Before I get too far into the variations I usually make three backup copies out of the way on pads 14,15,16 - just drums, drums + main sample layer, then one with all the elements in it. From there I make a bunch of copies across the top pads like you said. That’s when I start experimenting with removing things n adding drum fills etc… one I do a lot is when you’re going from the basic to the variation with everything in - on the basic I might take out the last snare, maybe the sample layer on the last beat too - this helps the next pattern kick in harder.

How did the sample get louder after linking the pads? Very cool video so far, I really enjoy your videos!
@Nonjuror2 жыл бұрын
Appreciate that, thanks! Looking back, I don’t think it got louder because it was pad linked, I think when I was mixing the vid’s audio in post I made it louder because both the filters I had resampled on the two layers had taken some volume from them n the video was getting too quiet….I don’t remember but I imagine that’s what I did…cheers! 🍺🍺🍺🍺

Dope vid! Do you match the tempo of each sample, or just play the chops to the beat’s BPM? Never used an sp, so couldn’t tell which value was accurate for the samples/beat

I’m curious about if the pads stay coated or if they wear like the 404a, also how solid the 1/4inch jacks are compared to rca (which I murdered in my 202). Nothing to suggest they’re likely to wear, just what pops to mind coz I wore them out on the others.

I am trying to replicate what you did in this video. When I resample the new sample sounds distorted even though the orinonal pad with FX applied sounds perfectly fine and fx 3 and 4 are bypassed… any idea why?
@Nonjuror Жыл бұрын
What mfx are you resampling with? Sometimes if my sample on my pad is normalized (or nearly that loud) I need to turn down the samples level before using things like EQ or Comp etc to stop the resulting resample from being distorted.

Thanks man! Appreciate the tip, that’s such a dope thing to able to do - now I’m curious, I had my drums in the lower half of the bank already with gate off, sample chops in the top two rows with gate on - would hitting shift+gate turn it all on or off the first time…I gotta go find out…

@@Nonjuror it's definitely a global flag somewhere in the firmware where it just changes everything to either be "off" or "on" and i think it turns everything on first. either way, just a handy tip for times when you have only your sample or a break of some sort on one bank!
