Chef butane torch is hotter, smaller, put steak on motorized chef turntable, and get even fast Maillard reaction to a smoked or sous vide steak. Better results for $20 for torch and $10 for turntable. My opinion is from experience as I own a unit like you tested in this video. I never use mine anymore. Mine is all stainless steel and propane.

Dude torches suck for a steak unless you like black and blue

I think you should preheat with the cast iron grill inside

DGT, Thanks for the candid Review. Did you get a chance to look at your Electric Meter spinning while it was cooking? Where are you storing it when not in use. Over the next 60 days can you let us know how many times you actually used it. Raybo in San Jose

I did not get a chance to see how much power it draws unfortunately. SO far haven't found its home yet either. I am however a little different than most average people. I currently have 8 grill/smokers, a couple air fryers, instant pots and other gadgets lol. SO, space it a little tough for me. Also since I have so many gadgets and have to constantly make content on them or do reviews a "normal use" rotation is a little out of the box for me.

I bet for a steak that big, this would be better if you sous vide it first.

I was surprised how well it came out being that thick.

Your wireless thermometer is not designed for those temperatures. Be careful with that.

Oh I KNOW, I figured it was poking out at the end so it wasn’t too bad. Plus this one gives a warning when it is in a dangerous temp so I could pull it if it got dicey.

Another ribeye steak cooking again! Ribeye is the easiest steak to cook. This video did not help to diced if I want this oven or not. Most ppl cant afford to eat ribeye. Do a cheaper cut demo
@DadGotThis

I’m sorry you did not enjoy the video. This is a pretty specific use machine. I would think if you are unable to afford a ribeye you are not looking to spend $250 on a gadget.

@@DadGotThis The reason I watched this video, because I was considering to buy this "gadget". I have airfryer, and an electric grill too, but none of those go over 400F, and that is not really hot enough to cook a great steak, especially on the daily basis, as I am doing carnivore way of eating. Most people buy less expensive cuts due to the price of meat, and looking for gadget the could help making a good steak out of a cheaper cut. Most of these steak cooking videos use ribeye unfortunately. I think I will stick to my good old cast iron pans, thanks to this video.

@8676karad what cheaper cut of steak are you using? My local Sam’s has pretty great pricing on the ribeyes and they go on sale. I grab them when I can.

@@DadGotThis I live at the Canada/USA border on the west coast, and no Sam's within a few hundred miles. Thats ok tho, I jut wanted to see what this grill does. I will survive without it. Thanks.
