I kinda think resentment towards housecare roles is missing the point. Relationships thrive when we care about each other. Whether husbands and wives take on traditional roles or not isn’t what matters. Serving family needs as a team is. Women can mow the lawn. Men can do dishes and bathe the kiddos, we all know that. But what matters is our heart. I cook and clean daily in and day out for my family because I love them and I’m not mad or resentful about it. My husband sees what needs to be done and does it too. He notices when my car needs its inspection and I totally forget about it or he cleans out the dog poop bin that got maggots in. Which things we do are irrelevant. What matters for a relationship is teamwork and love. And if you model that, children pick it up… my daughter notices the cat litter needs to be changed and does it for the cat. She doesn’t get mad that the litter need to be changed or at anyone else for not doing it. When we all get selfish, resentful and mad we lose something important in the point of successful relationships. Getting appreciation for everything is not necessary in a successful relationship because the contentment of teamwork is there. Just my 2 cents.

I think these are terms of relationships honestly. We have been married for 26 years and both have always worked full time. We have one now grown kiddo who still loves at home. We both cook, both clean up the kitchen after (whoever cooks doesn’t clean normally). There are so many helpful things my husband does around the house and I pick up slack in other areas. When we need to adjust, then we need to discuss it and adjust. It’s not always perfect and I joke that no one ever wipes down the counters but me, but there are plenty of other things I NEVER touch and he handles. I’m grateful for him for sure. But it’s just how we have chosen to work our relationships. I keep saying when it’s just the two of us we will do more meal kits just so we don’t have to think each week, what’s for dinner. 😂. We like having leftovers for lunches for work.

People are being way too harsh on Mike at Pro Home Cooks. Being a chef/cooking is his literal job. The people praising him are wrong because they're acting like he has a whole separate full time job AND cooking for his family every day. The people dunking on him for getting any praise at all are wrong because he's literally taking care of his family and cooking them amazing awesome food, much of which is now with food he gardens himself. I hope you're not dunking on him, too, by showing him alongside the "congressional dad's" thing, and commentary about how dads get all the credit (which you said you agree with). Honestly put me off the whole video. This is not true of real life and it's insulting to women to frame it like this, as if we are so fragile that we need to be applauded for all the normal stuff that needs to be done.

Ok, my best thought about women’s liberation? It gave us the freedom to hold TWO full time jobs! If you add up housekeeping, meals, child rearing and help mate time, all together it actually exceeds full time employment … and you do KZbin, TOO! I am always amazed by your talent and drive. My opinion is, generally speaking, that men simply don’t care about their environment or their meals in the same way women do, and as a result have no interest in homemaking. I made my life easier by keeping my meal plans season to season and reusing them. I also keep the recipes for each plan with them and the ingredients list too. I’ve added enough plans that we can go 3 weeks without repeats and that means we don’t get tired of the food, but I’m not reinventing the wheel either! And I am HAPPY to pay for Walmart Plus since that saves me 2-3 hours a week, and the aggravation of store and traffic! TFS!

Mexican food is not something we grew up on. So we have tacos and taco salad. They would be boring for you😂 He can be picky. I cook beef dip and seal vac. Teriyaki chicken, cook it and then seal vac. Etc. I make spaghetti sauce that is thick with ground beef. After watching videos where everyone buys Rayos marinara sauce from Costco. I tried it, bland. Had to doctor it. When I make lasagna, the sauce is thicker with meat and I cut mozzarella cheese in about 1/3rd of an inch. For the inside and top. I scramble fry ground beef and keep it in the freezer. I use it for quick meals. Like shepherds pie. But I have learned many things from you. I have bought different things you use. And I love your videos. Your personality, wit, your like a friend to me. So keep the videos coming lady. 🇨🇦💕👍🐶🐶

I do the cooking in our house, and while I love good food, I don't really enjoy making it so I want to do it as fast as possible. To that end, I have three hard non-negotiables while I'm cooking: 1) No one is allowed in the kitchen while I'm cooking. You can blame my dad for that. He a was always in the way. if he wasn't in front of sink when you have a pot of boiling water, he was in front of the stove, oven or refrigerator. Love you, dad, but get the hell out of the way! 2) Clean as I go. I will not spend an hour or two cooking then eating only to be faced with another hour of clean up. No, ma'am! Paper plates are also my friends. I know, the envrionment but I'm not immortal with a multitude of lifetimes. Do I really want to spend this one and only cleaning? Nope. And, 3) My kitchen is closed two nights a week: Wednesdays we eat out of the freezer. This helps me make sure I don't have a lot of frozen leftovers junking up the freezer. The second night the kitchen is closed is Sundays. I cook a double meal (same food, I'm not crazy) so that we have full leftovers on Sundays. Eat it, don't eat, the kitchen is closed.

I'm not a person that enjoys cooking. I love your videos as I get great ideas! My husband and I cook, but I wish there was more structure. Even when hes cooking he wants me to tell him what to cook. 🫠🫠

I’ve never had a dish washer. I’m saving to get one because I’m spending so much time washing dishes! I enjoy cooking and learn so much from you, Jen!
