Hey Chris, Congrats on the limits. Cooking crab on the boat is a really cool treat. I'm looking forward to seeing you get limits of both crab and halibut here in the near future. The flatties haven't starting biting good down here yet in the Monterey Bay. We're actually getting a few Pacific Halibut out in the deep water. Might have to trailer up to Emeryville. Maybe see you out there .Great job on the free gaff. That was awesome! If you want to keep a larger batch of bait try a little more water in a cooler and matching temp. You lose some from the transfer but you'll end up with more survivors.. Keep up the good work.

Put another Wrap on that Scotty puller and your buddy won’t have to pull so hard. I have the same one and with pots I do 3 wraps and you don’t have to pull at all. It will feed you the rope

Chris what a good friend and neighbor teaching your friends and children what it's like to enjoy the great outdoors. Your video's and description on what bait you use, limit, size and difference between males and females. To bad you didn't catch any fish. Oh well that's why they call it fishing and not catching. Keep the videos coming.

What is your ocean temperature? Try to match that at home for anchovy survival?

Any reason you didn't give outer bay a chance?
@ChrisPfish2 Жыл бұрын
outer bay is 52/53 degrees, where I was it was 63/64 degrees. So water temp is why I was fishing where I was. Thanks for watching

Dude. Haven't watched it yet, but so cool, to cook crab on boat. Keep the video's coming. D&D's channel needs some love, you boys need to hook up again.

Not sure what I did differently with my aerator, but glad to see you kept yours from foaming up. I'm glad you posted this. I was thinking of dropping my pots outside the gate this weekend before the closure and drifting the bars for halibut. You talked me out of it. 😅 It's just too early.

That's how you clean and cook crabs. I don't understand fisherman who eat the innerads...

So just a heads up...might be one of those laws that they dont enforce, but it's illegal to remove any live fish from the ocean. Again, CDFW might not care...but even baitfish are illegal to remove. Check into it...I'd hate for you to get a ticket. Not trying to be 'that guy', but just wanted to tip you off on that one.
@ChrisPfish2 Жыл бұрын
hmm interesting. They transport anchovies from the place i bought them to other bait shops for resale. Frankly baitfish/shrimp gets transported alive for resale all over the state. I can buy anchovies at those bait shops and bring them alive to the ocean and fish it. So that seems no different from what I did? Just kept them alive for 24 hours vs 1hr. I for sure no that is a no no in freshwater. You can not transport a fish from one lake to another. Thanks for watching and the comment.
@elgatodiablo6650 Жыл бұрын
@@ChrisPfish2 I think my other comment got the boot from a link I put in, but it pretty much said that they don't enforce it. I think you're all good.
@renerioux2644 Жыл бұрын
It’s not illegal because he did not fish for them. He purchased them it’s the same as going to the docks and buying fresh lobster and fish..

Be careful, I hear the Halibut population is declining. I haven’t got one so try to save some for us that haven’t gotten a keeper yet.
