Cooking Homemade Campfire Meals (Winter Camping & Fishing)

Is there anything better than the first bite of a homemade camp meal?
The conditions were challenging but there are few things as rewarding as building a campsite, making homemade meals and hunting down beautiful fish in northern Michigan!

I'm another viewer who recognized the river immediately. I know this area well as my parents had a cottage there for many years on that beautiful lake not 200 yards from the mouth of the river. I'm 75 years old now, but I remember fishing from that same dock many times with my own children. Thanks for sharing this new video. Five thumbs up!

@MagnoliaFN Sorry, I missed this question two months ago. The area is called Clam River, Michigan and it is where the beautiful Clam River flows into northeast side of crystal clear Torch Lake. The Clam River upstream from the little town is wild and wonderful as this video shows. The Dockside Inn in the town Of Clam River is right on the mouth of the river. They have a nice long pier and they let the public fish there as long as you behalf yourself and don't bother the diners. When the salmon are headed up the river, their dock is some of the best salmon fishing in the state and I've caught a lot of pan fish and Northern Pike from that dock over the years. The entire Torch Lake area is especially beautiful with hardwoods, pines, and tons of water everywhere. If you're in the area, try the food and craft beer at the Torch Lake Brewing Company down the street from the Dockside.

Over here in Scotland fishing eggs is illegal it's so effective on trout but salmon very rarely take it as they don't feed when in the rivers so it's strange the landlocked ones you have are readily taking it. We called the eggs here putty, you blend it up with a little sea salt and it dries out over a few days to a paste/putty consistency which you jar, then you just mould it onto the hook, but like i said illegal it's so effective on the trout and to stop people going out pulling hens off their redds.
