This is great. I have the same cooker. It tested negative for lead with my home test kit. Love Mississippi pot roast
@cocacolafiesta26 күн бұрын
I have that same thing but have just read about the lead content. How were you able to test it?
@keithblume515926 күн бұрын
@cocacolafiesta I purchased a lead test swab kit from Amazon. I really scrubbed it all over the inside and out and could not detect lead.

Something I do with my pressure cooker at home, is with the lid off sear the meat and vegetables first with the lid off. Then add your water and pressure cook.
@keithblume51594 жыл бұрын
I was also thinking please brown the meat hard with the fat before you add the vegetables. Don't beige the meat. Brown it!

Love it. Anytime you use a pickled pepper, pickled pickle, or even a little bit of saur kraut, in a pot roast it does amazing things. All my roast have one of the above. German pot roast uses regular old pickles or kraut and some juice. It sounds odd but it really works.

Saw this demo’d at Canoeocopia. It’s pretty awesome, although a tad heavy. I would suggest browning the meat in the open cooker for a few minutes before adding veg and liquid. The browning will add flavor to the gravy- and of course eliminates that pale boiled look of the meat.

I checked the website...link is in the drop down under video. For the price...this is a thick alum. 8L Bean pot lock down lid, triple presure vent, heavy solid looking pot. The price is fair in Comparitive to cheap thinner gauge and single vents costing 1/2 as much. Plus it can go straight in the fire. Its a winner. ..I saved it to file and will be buying one this early spring. Thanks !!!

Make Mississippi Pot Roast just like that at home in the crock. One of my favorites. Even better with deer or elk.
@LordoftheOzarks5 жыл бұрын
Raven Kell pretty much the same as his. I use a large roast, into the crockpot, add some carrots and potatoes, whole packet of ranch and whole packet of au jous right on top, a handful of whole pepprocinis (i remove them later, instead of leaving them in), a little water, a little pepprocini juice, half a stick of butter. Turn it on low for 6-8 hours. Thats it.

This works great as soon as you put more stuff inside (i.e. mushroooooms :D ) . The more, the merrier. A tiny problem can be the different cooking time for each ingredient you load. Some of them can be too soft, if one considers that a problem.

I am on the fence about this device. Speedy meals are nice and its a great way to tenderize tough meat cuts. But the "old school" part of me will probably stick to my cast iron kettle. It's cool for those who want that level of luxury in the woods. I won't fault anyone for that.
