About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

I’ve eaten eggs every day for as long as I can remember. I would have been a good one to test when they used to say that eggs were the cause of high cholesterol because cholesterol levels have always been perfect. I’ll eat eggs in any manner but they are the best cooked in a cast iron pan after frying bacon!

Connie Tademy my grandpa ate eggs and bacon or sausage every day. No heart or cholesterol issues. Nobody even heard of cholesterol back then. And the eggs were cooked in bacon grease. Heck, everything my grandma cooked was in bacon grease. Nobody had health issues from it.

Connie Tademy the high cholesterol level as an indicator for heart problems and blocked arteries is a big pharma hoax. It's a great way to sell shed loads of statins. I should know I've read the research and I'm a nurse.

Good morning. Your stove always reminds me of my mothers' cooking when I was little. It was the best part of the day to run downstairs and for the kitchen and the warmth from that stove. Mother would have a pie or fritters going, flapjacks, all manner of goodness early in the morning. We had an apple orchard and a milk cow, rabbits and chickens on the land. Our barn was my favorite place to play. I would sit high up in the loft by myself and sing every song I knew until the birds got tired of listening to me. Yes, a warm cast iron stove and breakfast lovingly prepared says HOME to me. Eggs any way are just fine. But, if I had to pick I would say over easy. Thank you for sharing this morning. Many blessings. ❄️❤️❄️

oh stacy - i have just made the most awesomenest topping for my salad that i put on a baked sweet potato - the salad was simple - julienned carrot cooked beetroot green apple and thin sliced 1/2 onion rings just mixed and dumped along with some sprouts then a dollop of yogurt instead of mayo - for the topping - dry frizzled pepitas then just when they start to brown take the pan off the heat and add around 2 tbs maple syrup and swirl till it stops bubbling - sets like kinda toffee around the seeds and adds that bit of crunch and its not sweet - we love it - my husband has had his 2nd heart attack - one 6 years ago and one this last friday the 20th december - so not only did he have a life change 6 years ago but its now a near on complete change in our lives and so aware of what is heart friendly foods - i know - people will say a little wont hurt - but - nope - its a life change - he has been given a 2nd chance so we are grabbing it with both hands - i want him to see out christmas and new year for the kids and then its a day at a time and slowly ramp it up to a week at a time and never - ever - take things for granted - you both have a blessed and happy christmas and new year with your family - cheerio - and dont forget - have fun and enjoy each day to the full

I love eggs. If I don’t break the yolks I do over medium.

Well Stacy & Doug, This morning I made a gluten-free apple fritter from your amazing recipe with sour-dough starter! It was deeee-licious! I'll be doing that a lot more often. I had mine with organic scrambled eggs. Yum! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Love your show! 🌷

I love eggs anyway you can cook them. One of my favorites is angel hair pasta with veggies (any kind) and top it with an over easy egg, it's YUMMY!
