I really, really hate the spatula. That said, I am starting to get used to it, but it was the cause of a LOT of frustration and missed orders at first. I still avoid using it when I can, and I am SO thankful that the game doesn't take sanitation into account, because I would have to redo so many orders from dropping it on the floor several (*cough* dozen) times. I still feel bad for my customers, though!

i played this game today, and, it has no bugs causing things to disappear or whatever so if you people are worried about that, now you are saved. Furthermore, the spatula seems to work fine now, as i understood by watching the footage of this video, when you click the pan, the spatula doesnt change spot while now, when you have a spatula with something on it and click a pan, the spatula "centers" on top of the pan in a position where when you rotate it, it falls in a favourable spot. Now for some tips of mine (career mode) : Use every second the game gives you ; Premake things before even getting orders, the prep times are perfect for doing this. As an example of what i mean, i personally season a salmon and put it in an oiled pan, and fill a pot with water, potatoes and salt (yeah im talking about that specific recipe), and when it is ordered i just turn on the cookers to cook this stuff. While it is cooking, i season another salmon and prepare another pot of potatoes as a replacement. This is great because instead of having to "eat" time to season things and put them in pots and pans, and then eat extra time to boil / fry them, you do both at the same time, you boil / fry 1 dish, while you prepare the next at the same time. Remember, food does not spoil, it just gets cold. Try to pick easy recipes that are similar to the recipes you already own. If you have a recipe where you boil potatoes, try to pick a recipe that, likewise, needs boiled potatoes, when the game forces you to pick one. This way you do not need to keep track of a billion different resources (makes my first tip easier to achieve). As a continuation of my second tip, i suggest that you remember your recipes so that you do not have to waste time looking at recipes. Concerning soups, do not try to pour into plates from pots, instead use ladles (big spoony things). Its super annoying when you spill your soup and just waste it, when you could save time and money by not making said accident.

@@bloxburg_builds1764 put all the settings on low and close other programs, i guess now if that doesnt work, try to get a refund. steam allows it if you havent played for more than 2 hours

Or you can place the cold product "upside-down" first. The game knows which side is top and which is bottom with each produce, and using context controls while holding a container such as a skillet not only centers it, but aligns it "right-side-up" again. Once the product is cooked on the "top" click the produce with your spatula and set it anywhere. Then use the skillet on the hot product to automatically flip over and land in the middle of the pan (assuming you hold still after clicking).

You can see the same effect when picking up lemon wedges and baked trout. I hold Shift and move the plate ever so slightly after clicking each part of that dish and move the plate in inch or so when plating to prevent the ingredients becoming piled in the center and rolling off of one another

When using the spatula, when the symbol shows up over the pan, press A (or left click) to "enter context". This will center the spatula over the pan, and freeze your character in place. It makes it way easier to flip food.

Great vid! These were some cool tips! I've been playing Cooking Sim on a PC (looks like you're playing on a device with a handheld controller, right?), and it's been really fun! I have some remarks about each of your tips: 1. Buy a Second Cutting Board (1:07) - Yeah, that's a great tip! I find myself needing to cut multiple items, and I have to run around the kitchen to find somewhere to place cut veggies to make room for the next veggie. I'll try using two cutting boards instead. 2. Bucket is Your Best Friend (2:21) - I haven't been playing CS for all that long, but I only recently (like literally 2 days ago) discovered how magical the bucket is. It occurred to me to use it for cleaning up messes (e.g. broken plates), but I never thought to use it to grab ingredients (cool!). That said, MY game has had some glitches when I tried to pick up shards of broken plates up with the bucket: I click on the shards, and they fly up and over to the bucket as usual, but then when they land, they land above the bucket, floating there in midair. Then when I pick up the bucket, the shards fall to the ground again. That's a bit frustrating. I don't know if anyone else has had that issue? 3. Steady Hand is Life! (3:40) - Yeah, that's a great perk! In my recent game experience, I've tried to use it lately with my game, but it doesn't seem to work. Like, I'll be playing in Sandbox mode, and I enable that perk. When I go to cut a veg, it, like, DOESN'T cut anything. It's another weird glitch that I've experienced. Nowadays, I play CS on a gaming-dedicated desktop, but I used to have the game on my personal laptop. Steady Hands worked fine on the laptop, but then RAM was the issue and there was an ungodly amount of lag in my game. Ironic... 4. Throw Away the Spatula Get HEAT PROOF GLOVES (5:03) - Yep, agree! The spatula in my game is AWFUL to use!!! Heat Proof Gloves perk has been a time saver for me, like if I accidentally dropped a hot item on the floor and didn't want to trudge over to grab a spatula or tongs or some plate/container. 5. Keep Ingredients within Reach (6:25) - YEEEEESSSS! Make the kitchen your own domain! I LOVE IT! I'm starting to embrace the freedom to be able to customize my own workspace in the game. Salt and black pepper, especially, get used in practically all the recipes I find myself cooking, so I've started to keep those containers right on the shelf over the stove. It's so interesting to me how every player interacts with the space differently, and therefore, different players will arrange the moveable objects in different ways. It's cool! Your problem with spatula is that you trying to use RMB. Using LMB is much more simple to rotate the meat portion.
