Here's another cooking with Rachael Video! For dinner I am making a crockpot meal! It is cold and snowy out today! Plus my friend Lisa ‪@OurLifeOnADime‬ keeps inviting and encouraging me to eat better and walk! So I took inventory and found leftover ham that needed used, carrots, cabbage, onions, lentils and celery that would be perfect as I had forgot to put something out and it was almost 2pm. I needed something that wouldn't take a long time to cook so ham and lentil soup it was! Plus it looked easy and delicious! Join me and find your new favorite!

Rachael this looks delicious. I like to make hummus out of lentils. It is delicious on sandwiches, salads & with chips. I have to try is. I have gold / yellow, red & green lentils in the pantry. ☃️❄️🌨

I love hummus but have never tried making it myself! I am going to look into it! I thought it was made using chickpeas/garbanzo beans though. Lentils sound better for it. Which lentil do you like best?

Oh wow, thanks for the shout-out! That was so sweet of you!❤ Good morning Rachael! Your soup looks yummy! Have you ever tried mung bean soup? It is an Asian soup that is great for losing weight and detoxing your body. Yes, if you use a mortar & pestle with your spices they become more active. I have a beautifiul one I bought from Goodwill for like $4.00. It is made out of a nice wood. It has palm trees carved out on it. 🌴 It is great to use on your dried herbs from your garden. I have a wood mortar and pestle also ...still packed up somewhere. I am pretty sure we brought it but you just never know!

Looks great. I'm going to try this. I don't live in a state that offers snow where I live but I love soup. And lentil soup so beneficial to the body. Thanks for sharing

Lentils do not get enough credit! They cook up fast. You can sprout them fast! and you can grow more with a little dirt, water and sunshine!

We used to grow black beans from Mexico. They’re actually like black and purple, but we mostly grew them for privacy. I would love to grow lentils, but I’m sure it’s a lot of work and they’re pretty inexpensive so I’ll keep getting them from the store lol but it would be fun just to try.

I am interested in ham and potato soup! If you make I will watch! Tubbs is so funny he can be in another room and come running when certain commercials come on. He has his favorites and not so favorites. Elliott also gets invested in the TV especially if the Roku cityscape is on. He will get up on the mantle and chase things. We use to have a screensaver on the TV that looked like a saltwater aquarium and he loved it!
