My mom cooks them separately. The caldo by itself and the rice by itself. Keeps the rice firm and not soggy. Then combine when ready to serve. Looks amazing either way!!

Made this and as a 100% mexicana I can say it’s super delicious. My family loved it!! I used a whole chicken instead of just drumsticks and for the spice did finely chopped Chile Serrano even tho we had the salsa asada. Personally I like the chopped serrano better. Delicious 😋 🍲

I made this for my family today and they loved it. My mom has Alzheimer's and doesn't seem to like anything to include chicken or cumin... she loved this soup and had seconds.... ssshhhhh.... don't tell her it was in the soup. My sister's boyfriend was wondering where I learned to cook. My dad normally adds some type of seasoning to everything he eats... he only added a piece of bilillo bread. The only thing I changed was using leftover cooked chicken, because I had to use it up and I also added 2 lg carrots (diced). Thanks for the recipe.

Hey girl ! I finally have time tell you que i had searched up a quick and easy receta with chicken and this recipe came up . Girl let me tell you my boyfriend LOVED IT. I had a couple quesadillas on the side and he said it was soo bomb ! Hasta me dijo “babe I’ll be right back, i said why,? Where you going ? I make this too, but I blend in a green bell pepper and double boil the chicken drum stick for a clear broth. Also make the rice on the side instead of boiling it into the broth. Looks yummy! I hope you feel better Claudia!!!

I love caldos. I make this one but we make it a little bit different. We sautee the rice and add the tomato sauce to it until it turns orange and then we add it to the chicken. We also add garbanzos. So delicious. I'm making some next week. Do you have a salsa de molcajete video?

@@pinkeeluvr hey! I’m so sorry I’m replying all late! Lol I added them about 20 minutes before being done.. (so when she added the cilantro) so I added potatoes and carrots first hen about 10 minutes in I added celery, peas and some chopped cilantro. I just let it boil for another 5 minutes or so and that was it! It wa was soo good!
