Instead of adding sugar drain some crushed pineapple and add it to the filling also I prefer chopped cilantro leaves to the onions it's all about what you prefer mix and match do it your way

As I organized my pantry and freezer , I found a few cans of water chestnuts and ingredients for crab Rangoon. What do you think of adding chopped water chestnuts as added texture? Just for self indulgence. To entertain, hell no . Other people don't deserve , he he !
