My family made it a tradition to have Hawaiian Luau, Lau-Lau every New Year’s Eve! 🎊 🎉 We washed the luau leaves and took of the tip of the leaves, we also took off the stem and strip of the stems. It really didn’t have any taste, so, Yes, you’re right Rita, if you don’t clean the stem of the Luau leaves. We wrapped the lau-lau with T leaves. However, it will be itchy, if you don’t wash it. Hi sis 🙋 thank you so much for the amazing support 😊 absolutely you only need 4cups of whole milk or evaporated milk 1 cup of sugar (bring it to a boil) In a bowl add 3 egg yolks 1/2 cup of milk 4table spoon of custard powder If you don't have it, you can use cornstarch (cornflour) and mix it al together. so from what I was told by my step dad, o le kala kuai i Samoa I aso la. There was a man named Ki'i'ki'i Akalaga who owned a farm that had taro leaves that grew as tall as humans. One day Ki'iki'is sister Sina went to visit him. As she was passing along his taro crops to get to his house, she must have accidentially walked into a taro leaf poking her eye. Sina told her brother about what happened and he told her not to worry. He cannot do nothing to the leaves but when he cooks with them, he will make sure that he rips off every tip of the taro leaf in remembrance of her. ia o le kala ga mai agamua
