Kabuli Chana
Ingredients
1. Kabuli chana - 1 ½ cup
2. Chopped potatoes - 1 ½ cup (2 nos)
3. Chopped carrots - 1 ½ cup (2 nos)
4. Chopped big onion - 1 ½ cup (2 nos)
5. Chopped beans - 1 ½ cup (2 nos)
6. Salt - to taste
7. Chilli powder - 1 to 1 ½ tsp
8. Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
9. Coriander powder - 1 to 1 ½ tsp
10. Chopped Ginger - 1” piece
11. Green chilli - 4 to 5
Masala
12. Grated coconut - 1 ½ cup
13. Soaked white khus khus - 1 ½ tsp
Seasoning
14. Oil - 2 tbsp
15. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
16. Red chilli - 4 to 5
17. Curry leaves - plenty
Garnish
18. Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
Preparation
1. Soak the chana dal for 12 to 15 hours & pressure cook with salt & turmeric powder (20 to 25 minutes).
2. Season with the seasoning items (14 to 17). Sauté items 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11 on moderate heat, add to the pressure cooked kabuli chana & boil.
3. Grind well the coconut & soaked khus khus adding a little chilli powder & turmeric powder , mix with the boiling chana adding water.
4. Boil 1 to 2 minutes & garnish with coriander leaves.
