Actual paleontologist here: The name “Dimetrosaur” (probably pronounced die-met-ro-saur) is most likely a reference to Dimetrodon, a synapsid (ancestor to mammals) that had a sail on its back similar to the dinosaur in the game (which is clearly based on Spinosaurus). I should also mention that the “flying dinosaurs” aren’t actually dinosaurs at all. They’re pterosaurs, which shared a common ancestor with dinosaurs but weren’t dinosaurs themselves.
