Not to be critical, one of the more important elements of your hold-down clamp is the Belleville washer . This is something that is not readily available that you can buy at a hardware store. How did you fabricate that, where did it come from? Keeping scraps of wood, washers, nuts and threaded rod is one thing, 99.999% of the population do not have one of these type washers kicking around in their home shop unless you plan on scrapping a perfectly good C-clamp to make this type of clamp. That would be counter intuitive to destroy something to make something. Would it not??? You listed all the parts except the washer, please explain where it came from and how I can get one. I'm sure others would be interested as well.

The video title and info (in video) doesn’t give info as to what’s happening. You have to watch the whole thing or skip to the end to find out what’s “cool”. I would guess most people who watch it aren’t woodworkers/craftspeople and find it to be not very useful or not very interesting in the end.

For this, I'd rather go down the street and buy one of these for $5 and only use 5 minutes of my time instead of wasting half a day I could use a thousand better ways. Is this great craftsmanship? Thanks Vanya. You have just made a bunch of people question why we go spending and filling our workshops up with heaps of manufactured stuff when with a bit of intuition (and hopefully a lot of safe practice) we can make useful simple and effective tools and gadgets from minimal material that we can be proud of.
