“Cool Million” debuted in October 1972 as the third element of “The NBC Wednesday Mystery Movie,” joining “Banacek” and “Madigan” in that rotation. A two-hour pilot film (usually broadcast now as “The Mask of Marcella”) was followed by four 90-minute episodes. The show starred James Farentino as Jefferson Keyes, “an enterprising former CIA agent who set himself up in business as a private eye willing to take any case or solve any problem for a flat fee of one million dollars (refunded if he fails) ... His cases took him all over the world (Canada, the Riviera, Africa) and ranged from locating a woman in a photograph who can save a man from a murder rap to leading a nine-man team to rescue a kidnapped billionaire to arranging an art theft to get back at the dictator who paid Keyes fee with a rubber check.” Learn more here: www.thrillingde...
The video clip shown here comes from the first series episode, “Hunt for a Lonely Girl,” guest starring Ray Milland and Kim Darby. "Cool Million" theme music by Billy Goldenberg.

This show should have lasted way longer than it did. Oh the memories, Banacek, Cool Million & Madigan.

Also McMillon and Wife, McCloud, And I think Columbo was also in that mix of shows that rotated on "The Tuesday Night Mystery Movie"

"Cool Million" could've been a fun millionaire bounty-hunter series were it put in the hands Banacek's producer or even Quinn Martin. In my eyes it didn't take itself seriously or in creative plots enough while mostly flashing babes around.

Cool Million was one of those shows that promised more than it performed. James Farentino was much better as lawyer-brother Neil Darrell in The Bold Ones.

Not sure if I ever watched a whole episode of this. I did watch Banacek, I do remember seeing a Madigan episode or two, but this one, Snoop Sisters and Tenafly, I don't think I saw, and I remember turning off Faraday and Company after five minutes because Dan Duryea was so grouchy I couldn't stand him.

3:03 - 3:14. 10 seconds and the whole premise of the show is explained. Pretty damn economical writing if a little stagey.

I remember Cool Million on Wed Night NBC Mystery Movie after they moved Columbo, McMillan and Wife and McCloud to Sunday. Anyone know who did the music score for Cool Million? I'm pretty sure just want to verify. It would be in the end credits of the episodes.

You used to be able to find this episode on KZbin, but no longer. However, you can at least purchase two other episodes of the short-lived "Cool Million" at the Modcinema site: modcinema.com/categories/3-made-for-tv/965-cool-million-tv-1969-dvd?order=title_a-z&page=3
